Been here for almost a decade, finally I decided to write a review to give some virtual support for local businesses. They are quick and very straightforward. Unlike other place, they tell you directly what need to be fix ASAP. Especially if you are tight on budget, the owner and technician let you know which part of your car needs to fix first. It helps to know how much you need to save for later repairs. It’s hard to find body shop that are trustworthy nowadays. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Amazing experience! I came here to get an oil change. The hospitality provided was of itself 5 stars! (And my dog Bunny was very welcomed). They went above and beyond- even checked all my tire pressure! (I was low on one tire and was planning on asking them to add air and was pleasantly surprised that it was already getting addressed without having to even ask!) thank you so much; I will be coming back here :)

I’ve been taking my car here for several years now, pretty much since I got a car. They’ve done everything from small jobs like an oil change or fluid refill to bigger jobs like replacing the motor in my door when my window stopped working. They’re always very reasonably priced, do fantastic work, and get it done quickly. I have never had to leave my car there overnight—it’s always same day service, no matter how big the job. Also, they are never condescending or belittling (I know nothing about cars except how to drive one lol) which is rare especially for feminine presenting people going to mechanics. There is none of the machismo or upselling that you get at other mechanics. Just good, honest work. I tell everyone I know that has a car to go here, and I can’t recommend this place highly enough! I am moving upstate in a few months and am honestly worried I won’t find a mechanic as good as these guys.

Absolutely Rude! Been going here for years and all Of a sudden I was denied inspection Despite showing proper documentation of a tint exemption. I was Spoken down to and felt disrespected by attendant. Not any way to treat a loyal patron!

After a phone estimate they pulled the classic bait and switch and tried to up the agreed upon price for a simple repair. Very rude negotiation. Go next door and get much better cheaper service.

I’ve been taking my car to SLK for like 7 years. They are miracle workers. They are such gifted mechanics. Their work is efficient and flawless. Their pricing is fair and transparent. Turnaround time is the best in NYC. They never ever cut corners, but they also never upsell or tack on useless services or charges. They take time to explain the issue, the fix, and the budget. Communication is excellent at every step of the repair. They treat everyone fairly and respectfully.

Gary was extremely friendly and diagnosed the issue right away. He gave me a break down of the cost and it was very reasonable. The best part was they got the job done extremely quick!! I’m definitely coming back here for all of my services and issues in the future. A true gem!
