I have taken my car to them a few times now and they are very honest and reasonable with price. I just had them fix my AC in my 2011 Camaro and it blows cold now. Great people over here and great communication. Would highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this place, and CA especially. I just needed a real and honest assessment of a car I had to make sure was fit for sale and that's what i got. Sounds pretty simple, but in my experience it's rarely that easy when you're walking into a new place where you don't know anyone. Especially for someone who doesn't know that much about cars (or at least looks like they don't) - I've had way too many bad experiences and a lot of wasted time. CA checked everything that needed to be checked without going into unnecessary stuff, he took his time but didn't waste any, and he easily answered all my questions. Really professional service and I'll go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

Our company has used Southern Armature for some of our fleet vehicle repairs. They have always provided excellent service at a reasonable price. When they have run into a situation where they are unable to diagnose or make the repair, they have referred us to someone who can. Terry and his crew are top-notch! The folks at Southern Armature know what they're doing, do it well, shoot straight, and demonstrate in every way that they care about the customer. I believed that I had a big problem with my starter when I brought my car in to the shop. C.A. diagnosed the problem as a bad battery. I had bought the battery at another repair shop which was no longer in business. C.A. determined that my old battery was still under warranty and agreed to provide a replacement battery under the warranty even though I had not purchased the battery from Southern Armature. A month later, I have had no further problems.

Thanks to the owner TERRY RUMORE for making my day. I've been trying to find someone to make me longer air conditioning hose for my APU for 6 months. I went to other places and they didn't have the correct fittings or hoses. Mr. Rumore took out his time to make the hoses and was very polite. Mr. Rumore also had correct hose sizes and fittings for 2 different hoses. Thank you sir for helping at the most desperate time. Have a great day sir.

I had to have the starter replaced. Southern Armature did an excellent job! From the beginning, they provided me with a cost and time estimate for the repair, then they lived up to their promises. I am very happy and believe I have found a new mechanic for my car.

THE BEST IN BIRINGHAM! THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO SELL REPAIRS YOU DON'T NEED! They are FAIR, knowledgeable, thorough, and spend the time to help the customer understand their recommendations. CA was very, very helpful! We used one auto repair shop in Birmingham for over 20 years. It was hard to give up the confidence we had in that shop when it no longer did retail work. But we feel we have found the shop that will care for our cars for the next 20 years (and many more)! Repairs are always stressful. Thanks Southern Armature for making bad situations better.

This place is fantastic. They checked my truck out from top to bottom. No pressure, no trying to sell you things you don't need. CA handled everything from beginning to end. Very professional, super nice. Could not have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend them and if and when it becomes necessary with my vehicles I will be using them again.

Update 6/14/2023: Another great experience with Charlie and his great team. I took a badly neglected, gunk-filled gas tank with several rust holes to them and they did an amazing job restoring it and at a very fair price. Again the communication was great and it was ready on time. Older post: I’m over the moon with Southern Armature. They were recommend by a friend and I’m so glad I followed the suggestion. I took in a clapped out 1963 Lincoln radiator and expansion tank. They sealed the expansion tank and clearly explained the options for my radiator. They called back when they said they would, finished on time and I was very pleased with the quality of work and the price. I will look for more opportunities to do business with them again. Great service and pleasant to work with.
