Eric is such a great guy and has gone above and beyond to take care of us and our boat. He typically doesn’t service boats but he did me a solid and completely rebuilt mine including installing a new engine, repaired the outdrive and props, and rebuilt the seats and replaced the upholstery. He also repaired the boat trailer and took it from failing apart to completely safe and functioning. Not only did he do all of this but he delivered the boat to the lake, dropped it in the water , and then took us out onto the water to make sure everything worked great and to teach us about all of the changes he made. I will say it again..not only is he a great mechanic but he is a great guy!!

I apologize for my early review about Southside automotive it took my computer longer than expected to catch up with the cycle drive so it seamed the problem wasn't fixed which they told me at the time they couldn't get it to respond, but now it finally cot up with the system and need to call Eric and apologize to him personally and let him know it's fixed and working now for all his time and work put into it !!! I changed my rating to a five star.

Girlfriend took car here In hopes to get car fixed , never communicated anything just did work and got charged 400$ for work that wasn’t done got a second mechanic to check work behind and he assured me nothing was done went with us to see and was told after A 15 minute argument Michelle shouted “ talk to Eric “ and when asked for Eric’s information , she stated “ Eric’s on a fishing trip , doesn’t have his phone “ only to find out seconds later that girlfriends dad was talking to Eric so Michelle lied straight to our faces , won’t be going back terrible service wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

My family and I have been using Southside since before I could drive...I'm 41. They're fair and have your car ready when they tell you it'll be ready, maybe even before. Not only have I had NUMEROUS cars fixed there, I've bought AND sold them cars over the years. Eric, the owner, is always straight forward with the whole process. Think locally before you go anywhere else!

Eric/Michelle & their Crew give outstanding Customer Service. I have been a customer for several years and Southside Auto has kept my 2002 diesel working perfectly throughout the entire time. They provide accurate estimates and due to my financial issues at times, always work out a plan to address the most critical ones first for my safety. Eric's outstanding mechanical knowledge addresses all of my truck's issues (tires too :)!! I highly recommend talking to Eric for any of your vehicle concerns and/or repairs and all of his Service Department Personnel are AWESOME when getting the work completed on-time!!!

If you have a diesel truck, these guys are great. Mechanics on duty found my problem in minutes. The owner confirmed their assessment and showed me. I've been driving diesel trucks for 15 years and almost always get the run around from mechanics. None of that here. Fair price and Eric even loaned me his truck over the weekend so I could still work while he fixed my truck. Extremely impressed, I've already been telling my friends about Southside.

Was quoted $30 ("at the most, if we can't just get it done for free") for a simple low-beam headlight repair, and the next day was told it would be $200, with zero communication after I dropped my car off other than "we couldn't get to it today, should be tomorrow". The lady, who was initially very nice and helpful, was extremely rude and smirked as she told me "well I didn't say that, and if I did, I meant $30 for diagnostics. So you pay $200 or we keep your car." When asked what exactly they had done, she said she didn't know, and upon pressing her she said her shop manager had fixed the bulb, fuse, assembly and a wiring fault. Thing is, the bulb was brand new (and was still in there after they finished, despite it being "replaced"), the fuse had been tested the day I dropped it off as working perfectly (also, not replaced as they claimed), and there was nothing done to or replaced on the assembly. Plus, they "couldn't remember" where the alleged wiring fault was- which seems kind of an important thing to forget. I argued with her for a bit, even offering to pay $100 (knowing that was still a rip-off) just to get my car and leave, and after a few minutes of her insulting and mocking my unwillingness to pay $200 ("well MOST of our clients can afford to keep their cars running, I guess you just can't, huh?" and "we assumed you would want it done, since we thought you had money, but I guess you don't," things like that) I asked to see the work order indicating that I had authorized them to do anything beyond diagnose the issue. She hesitated, said "um, I'm not sure I have it on hand." I replied "of course you don't. I never signed anything, nor did I authorize you to do any of this- not that anything you claim to have done makes sense. You have nothing in writing, and nothing signed. So tell you what. I know this hustle. You can either take $100 and give me my car back, and enjoy a thorough and negative Google review, OR we can file a mechanics lien and I'll take you to court." She frowned, muttered a bit of trash talk and handed me my keys after charging $100 to my card. As I thanked her for whatever they did do, as my headlight did at least work now, she simply replied "whatever." As I pulled out, I waved and received scowls and some less friendly gestures in return. Out $100, lesson learned: be sure to have a mechanic you can trust. A few other local shops balked when I told them about my experience, and remarked that they had heard of fake 5-star Google reviews and similar repair scams from Southside. It's a scam, and a common one- once they have your car, they can charge whatever they want and unless you can afford to go without your vehicle until you get them into court, they'll keep it, and most customers would rather pay the ransom and move on than go without their car. A dirty trick, and a fine example of why it's important to have someone you know and trust before you hand your keys over. So, after this long review, I guess my point is this: Southside Auto Repair is trash. And the lady who works the office is a bad liar to boot. Thanks y'all!

One of my trucks broke down and Eric came out and towed me to his shop. He offered to get me back up and running for the time being for my business. I told him I had other trucks that I can use. He has done everything to keep me working and making money. His quote was $3500 under PepBoys & $4000 under Firestone. He saved all the parts that were replaced and showed me why they were replaced. It is hard to find honest and good work these days. He has my company business and personal business. Thank you Eric for the honest work you and your crew have done to keep me safe and working efficiently.
