On October 15, I took my car to Steven's Shell Auto Services because it had a check engine light on. Steven told me to leave it there for 4 hours so he can check it out. He called me back in 2 hours, and during the call he had a bad attitude and was impolite whilst speaking to me. He told me that it was a Catalytic Converter problem and that I must replace the catalytic converter now for $1100.00 today or the price will go up tomorrow and it "might not be in stock later on". He told me that if I didn't replace it soon, I would not be able to drive any further without the car failing. I made the decision to take the car back without acknowledging anything about his advice. I told him that I wanted to have my car back, and I'd think about his offer. He asked me to pay $110.00 for a check engine fee, so I paid it off and got my car back. I went to another auto shop for a second opinion. They told me that there was nothing wrong with my car. They said that since the car was very low in miles, it should not have any catalytic converter issues, and he fixed it up for me at no cost. I was so happy and lucky to have the other auto shop's help; he is my lifesaver. But Steven's Shell; he is a fraud. Please be aware.

Had this shop come highly recommended. I needed my AC refilled and oiled properly. I dropped it off at 9am. Wasn't ready until 5pm. Was told it would take a couple of hours by Steven. He called me around 3pm to tell me we had a problem, "one side is blowing warm but it's ok no problem" I responded what do you mean. He basically said my job was to fill your AC and my job is done. He called me again when I was on my way, you come NOW. He couldn't tell me how much oil he put in and how much freon he put in the system. Long story short he was rude and didn't put enough oil in which caused the compressor to hydro-lock then put on the receipt that he added 3lbs of freon. But my truck only takes 1lb 12oz.

These guys are around the corner from my office and they are not only convenient, but they have done very good work tackling a number of issues with my car. They've handled oils changes, shock replacement, suspension adjustment, suspension repair and more, and this all on a modded FJ Cruiser. They are reasonably priced and Steven the owner will talk to you straight on whether or not they can handle the work.
