My experience with Steve's Imports has been great. I brought them a 1987 300zx that had been improperly garaged for 20 years and told them to make it run and make it street safe and street legal. Due to age of the car, it took a fair amount of money and an even fairer amount of time. But like I said, that's not on Steve's Imports, it's just the nature of the beast. They fixed, replaced, and chased down parts and backed their work. A couple times, the car had issues that they had been working near and around. They couldn't be sure that they caused the issues but they took care of them anyway since there was a chance. It was a difficult process, but they communicated well and worked hard with me to get the care running. Ultimately, due to the special needs of my car, I had to switch to a specialist. However, Jon had unwavering integrity and dedication to transparency and fairness.

I needed to get my emissions test for registration renewal and called for an appointment since the deq locations had limited hours for the holidays. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hrs, and I was in and out in about 5 mins, great experience for something that is normally a pain!

Great local shop, has always been honest with me and keeps me posted as soon as something changes/gets fixed. I definitely recommend Steve’s over anywhere else I’ve been to in the Portland area.

Worked with service manager John and he was top tier in customer service. He was transparent and easy to work with. As a single woman who isn't mechanical at all I feel extremely vulnerable at places like this but the team at Steve's are fabulous. I'd recommend to anyone looking for quality people and service.

Went to Steve's for a DEQ test to get my plates renewed. Josh was super helpful and got it done quickly. Was in and out in probably less than 5 minutes. Seems like they run a good operation :)

I had the unfortunate event of having a blown head gasket and cracked head on my 2019 Acura RDX. From day one from receiving the quote to the day the job was finished Steve’s imports was very helpful and great to work with. The pricing was great and the staff was very friendly and would keep me updated with the status of the vehicle. They also were not pushy with trying to upsell anything and did a great job keeping the price around the original quote. I highly recommend and would use them again for any future vehicle repairs!

Had a terrific experience at Steve’s Imports getting a DEQ check. They sent me text appointment reminders, were naturally courteous, professional and efficient. And, they assisted me with completing the registration. Very pleasant experience and I will recommend them to my friends and family.

Since having the stock engine replaced in my 69 Beetle, I've been having minor tune up and carb adjustments done on it. John and the air cooled techs have been great to work with, patient with all my questions, walking me through everything. It's refreshing to have a shop I can take my old VW to and trust the problems will be resolved.

steve's is a great, locally owned auto shop that I'm glad to support. Josh (Service Manager) got me scheduled quickly and I was out the door in no time. There was no upselling-- just a knowledgeable honest exchange.The staff was all super friendly and you could see they enjoy their workplace. while no one loves having to go to the mechanic, at least go somewhere that's fair, kind, and does great work... like steve's!

Today I hugged my mechanic. You heard me right. I have a 1995 Mercedes in unbelievably good condition, but she's old and things break. I've been to a couple of other Mercedes specific mechanics in town (one was cuckoo and they other just too spendy - but still great!) but Steve's is where I go now. They always go way above and beyond and they all LOVE my car. They even use her name - Zelda. It's about to be a million degrees out and my air vents, of course, stopped working. After much research the first step would be to change the fuses. Easy enough except parts for my car, even just fuses, are difficult to find and I needed them today. So I called John at Steve's on the off chance they had any fuses in stock. They had just one told me to swing by. They popped it in and, holy hell! Let there be AIR! These guys are the best. I don't leave reviews but today I am because Steve's saved the day (as they often do)! If you don't feel compelled to hug your mechanic then maybe it's time for a new one. Oh, and I'm a woman and not once have they patronized me or treated me like I don't know anything about cars. They always treat me kindly and professionally and with respect. This is your new mechanic.

Great shop for import repairs. The pricing is on point with other shops in Portland. They were quick to get my car scheduled and repaired I a timely fashion. The staff was friendly and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. I would definitely bring my car back to them and recommend them to friends.

I absolutely love Steves imports, John was AMAZING --took my Cayenne in, and he totally took care of me, I had met him at another shop and when I went to Steves I got the same stellar customer service--full education, total communication, upbeat and professional!!! If you're looking for a blend of professional expertise, a touch of humor, and a group of awesome humans, look no further than Steve's Imports. My experience with them was nothing short of spectacular and I would recommend anyone and everyone to use them! From the moment I brought in my trusty Toyota FJ Cruiser, Steve's team tackled the mystery issue with the patience of a saint on a mission. They were like Sherlock Holmes on caffeine, never giving up until they cracked the case. Despite the maze of trials and errors, their resolve was nothing short of amazing as we eventually reached the finish line, which they promised from day one, we would. NOTE: I had brought my FJ to 5 different shops, including 2 Toyota dealerships and none of those could fix the issue (THANKS SI TEAM!). Their service was top-notch and surprisingly fairly priced, although I suspect they may have lost a few bucks trying to unravel the FJ Cruiser conundrum. Throughout the ordeal, they maintained a fantastic sense of humor, even when my car seemed determined to test their sanity. Communication was a breeze with consistent updates that kept me in the loop, even though I'm far from a car aficionado. They patiently explained everything in a way that made sense to someone whose expertise peaked at knowing how to pump gas. In conclusion, Steve's Imports has won me over. I'd gladly return with any future car woes (if they'll still have me!), because when it comes to automotive care, they're simply unbeatable. Trust me, your car deserves Steve's touch! I was down the street when my rotors started screeching. I knew it wasn't my pads on the verge of dying because the pads were still fairly new and my amateur eyes couldn't spot anything blatantly obvious. I pulled into their lot after they were closed and they were still able to take a quick look to see what was wrong. Thanks again for the quick look on after-hours

This was my first time patronizing the shop and I just came in for my DEQ test. I checked in with John who was super polite. He ran my test and before I knew it, it was all done. John even took the time to walk me through checking how to see the results in the DEQ TOO website. Really professional, courteous, and knowledgeable guy! This was an amazing experience and I will direct all of my friends in the Portland area with imported autos to check out Steve’s Imports. Bonus: great coffee in the waiting area/office!

Had an excellent first experience with Steve’s Imports. They were able to get me in same day for DEQ Too, had the lowest listed fee in the area (and actually waived it), and had me in and out in less than 5 minutes. Also very helpful with setting me up to complete things afterward with DMV. Overall very plant shop, people and experience and would highly recommend to others.
