The road was long on the way down from California to San Antonio for a family visit. The “Check Engine” light came on half way to our destination. Of course that was worrisome as we still had 20+ hours of drive time back to California. We’re AAA members and so we searched for a AAA approved auto center and the closest one to us was Summit Automotive Inc. We called and they took us in right away. The gentleman that helped(I believe his name was Nate??) was relaxed, cordial and exhibited warm Southern hospitality and charm. He got to working on the car immediately while we waited in a nice and clean lobby. He did an initial scan to determine what the problem was and if it required further diagnostics. He determined the problem wasn’t serious and it could’ve been a sensor and reset the “Check Engine” to where it wasn’t on anymore. But the best part was when we wanted to pay for his effort. He just wore a smile on his and said he wasn’t going to charge us. We were blown away!!! This shop is wholly legitimate and these guys are honest and will take care of you. I highly recommend!!! Referred here by a friend and I was very impressed! They gave me a quote on the phone and did not try to push extra things or tell me I needed to do something. They had an appointment available the next day and had my car done in an hour. When I picked up my car, the quote they gave me was the same price as what I paid! Will be going back to them for my car needs.

I recently had work done on my car and that mechanic created more problems than when I started. I took it to Summit and they were amazing. They worked with me and were completely transparent about my options. They got me back on the road quickly! This will be my place of choice moving forward! Thank you Mariano and the entire team!!!!

Outstanding. '76 Chev C20 had a starting issue. Happened before so I figured it was same problem with column switch. Nope. Tech checked into it and found the original key lock switch had just wore out. I bought truck new and me and it getting a bit old and wore. Always let the pros fix things.

Words can not describe the outstanding professional and personal care I received by taking my car to Summit Automotive. I took my older car, that has major sentimental value to me, to get checked out. Mr. Amazing Anthony spent a lot of time giving me detail information on what repairs should and must to be done. This repair shop was recommended to me by a manager of O'Reilly's Auto Parts be honest, thorough and reliable. I'm so very happy that I came here!!! I've been a customer of Summit Automotive for 15 years. When I started with Summit, I was splitting my repairs between Summit and the Nissan dealer. Little by little I started trusting Summit to do more and more of the work. I moved completely over to Summit when the dealer gave me an estimate of $790 to replace 2 rear shock absorbers. I took the car to summit who completed the work for $405. I assume it could be argued that Nissan uses genuine Nissan parts. Summit used Monroe brand shock absorbers, which is a brand I've heard of and has been producing shock absorbers for as long as I can remember. I'm not willing to pay $385 more for a Nissan part. I haven't had any surprises from Summit; meaning they diagnose my problem and call me with an estimate that hasn't changed between the phone call and when I pick up the car. Sometimes the work is expensive, but when it is, it's a substantial job and I know in advance. I'm okay with paying a fair price for a good job. A job in my opinion, is as good as the car dealer's. Summit warranties their work, and they offer a 10% discount for AAA members. There may be a cap on the 10%, I'm not sure. I trust the folks at Summit and I'm taking this opportunity to submit this review because it is long overdue. They are closed on weekends.

This place is AMAZING! These guys are 100% up front and honest. Anthony was very understanding today and really helped me out. He let me know that it could take up to a few hours because of their workload and what the cost would be ahead of time. I walked out of there WAY under the estimated time and cost. These guys FIND a way. If they were a baseball team, champs. Because they FIND a way to win. Beating out expectations. Great service from top to bottom.

Went to get a state inspection and it took longer for the drive from my home than it did to inspect my vehicle...was bout 5-10 minutes for the inspection

Great service from Summit Automotive. Fair priced repairs and services. My sons highly recommended them to me. Chad didn’t try to oversell any maintenance work, but also informed me of some potential things that needed fixing so I wouldn’t get stranded on the road. Driving a 16 year old Toyota that we have maintained very well over the years. The dealer service center would have charged me more for just inspecting some of the items and not counting the additional labor and parts to fix them. They were friendly, thorough, efficient, trustworthy and quick. Taking my husband’s 16 year old Toyota there next week.

I went in on a whim to get my door looked at because it had problems staying closed and would even not lock because it always thought the door was open. I went in fully prepared to wait a couple hours and pay a couple hundred bucks. Anthony, at the front desk, came and looked at my car and fixed it in less than 2 minutes. When I told him I’d like to at least pay the diagnostic fee to show him appreciation for his time and expertise he declined. Now a days customer service is not what it use to be and Anthony just completely turned that around in less than 2 minutes. I am very grateful and will recommend Summit to everyone. Thank you!!

Recently took my jeep wrangler there. Been having a hard time figuring out what's wrong with it. They figured it out and got it back to me running great. These guys do good work. I take my RV to them for regular service and maintenance.

Chad, Nate, and Anthony took great care of my ‘17 GT350 after I scheduled to bring it in for diagnostics on an AC issue. A bad AC compressor was determined to be the issue, and they got my car in and out on the same day after swinging by in the morning. Communication was great throughout the whole process.

Recently took in my 2007 Chevy Colorado in response to my check engine light; had them also check my battery and fluid levels. Got a new battery, flushed radiator and brake fluids and a new gas cap that was setting off the chk. eng. light. I’ve been a satisfied customer for over 10 years. They are always busy, but give high quality service in a timely manner, and I never worry they might be charging me for unnecessary work. An honest mechanic is a real treasure these days. Summit is the only place I’ll trust my cars to!

Great shop, Anthony always keeps me updated and will actually return parts and find me discounts if they are available! I have a 93' Bronco that I don't think I would trust anyone else with and will continue bringing here for a long time.

I took my FRS here to get an EVAP leak fixed. They had it for a few days and called back with a repair cost of $300 for a gas cap replacement and a “tightened up” fuel assembly. I drove off the lot and my car was immediately having issues - beyond what I came in with. I brought it back and they did a full diagnosis w/ smoke test under warranty, called back with a bad “leak detection pump”. The repair cost was $1,300 to get under my fuel tank and access the part, understandable. I was still skeptical, so I went down the street and actually paid for another full diagnosis. They sent me pictures of a hole in my fuel tank sitting under my backseat, my “pump” and everything inside my charcoal canister is fine. So not only did I waste $300, they were about to go through with a huge repair that wouldn’t fix my issue - for the second time. Y’all got some good people in there, but some techs have got to hit the books before putting more people through this who don’t know any better.
