These guys are a local gem. Always busy and always friendly. They're fair, honest, and know their stuff. Jason has been working on our family's vehicles in some form or another for over a decade. Dwayne runs the front of the shop with a patience you just don't see anymore. Would highly recommend making an appointment!!

Unfortunately we had a bunch of issues leaving Michigan heading back home to Indiana, and we were recommended to go to sure stop. And, we can not be happier with the service, quality of work and the friendly staff. 10/10 would recommend.

1 of the repairs you paid to have fixed at another repair shop 3 days after replacing it. Another repair you fixed you did correct within 2 weeks. The final repair you completed broke well before the 2 year, whatever mileage well under 2000 miles I finally decided enough was enough. fact is what it is. I cant keep bringing vehicles to you to keep fixing the same problem. Update 5-14-2022, yes the review is old, the fact of the matter is the same. Faulty parts and or faulty repairs. This is just a review of the type of repairs, 1 day or 2 years later. No reason to contact since the repairs are not good. The 3 vehicles I do refer to were either 1 day or 2 weeks from your shop.

I can't say enough about this place , the mechanics here are always willing to make sure my vehicle is Always running to its best performance. The front man Dewayne is Awesome Always willing to do whatever it takes to get me in as soon as possible and he really knows how to find and order parts. Jay the owner is willing to come out and explain things and show you the bad parts that need to be replaced and answer your questions and he is a really good guy !!! It's the only place I will take my car .

If I could leave more stars I would. The entire crew helped me through the entire process of my dream truck. I got a 1990 Sierra with an entirely new engine/motor/Trans, everything mechanical is new in this truck. Immediately after being built the previous owner had to sell it, and of course it had problems. These guys have helped me through it from the start. I took my truck to SIX shops, in Petoskey and gaylord. A lot of towing, breakdowns, etc. Out of the six shops, one was even able to work on my truck, and that is sure stop auto. None of the other guys know how to work on carburated engines. My truck was in and out of shops for months, all for the same problem. Nobody could fix it. Sure stop fixed my month long problem in six hours. The entire team is friendly and helpful, and personable. They aren't a business, they are a family and made me feel like I was part of that family. I will always take all of my vehicles here, and have rigorously recommended them to all of my friends and family, and always will. They are honest and to the point. That's what we need in this field. Thank you all so much, and, I'm sure I'll see you guys soon!

Took my car to the dealer, they told me I needed new rear brake rotors and pads…$465. Seemed like a lot, so I figured I’d check out a local place and get an estimate. Sure Stop had good reviews. They seemed friendly enough and had a nice reception area. But, their estimate told me I needed new pads, rotors, and calipers on both the front and back…almost $1,300. Seemed outrageous. Why wouldn’t the dealer have told me I needed new calipers and that the front brakes were needing replacement? Seemed like they were trying to replace things that didn’t need it…and at a premium price, too. Needless to say, they lost my business. Might as well stick with the dealer I trust.

When I first called and told them what I needed to be done with my car the Actual bushings on the sway bar And not the sway bar links was told a list of things that would have to be replaced. Which I have done myself or with friends. So that was a headache. But I needed a coolant flush, the first two pictures were right when I picked up the car after hours which they did make it convenient of a location underneath the camera for me. But as I inspected my car this is what I found. And then I noticed immediately when I took the car home from not having heat after the car was warmed up the amount of fluid that was pouring from my car. I was told it was a common mistake in there most of an air bubbles. And what was dripping from my car is from them power washing it. Unfortunately there were so much dirt and grime it doesn’t look like they power washed it so it didn’t make sense. As I drove my car for the next 20 minutes the overwhelming smell of coolant because they spilled coolant throughout under my hood and didn’t take the time to clean it. Every time I spoke to the one gentleman and I was constantly interrupted to the point I started crying, because unfortunately even being a female I have quite a bit of car knowledge. This is a common problem I have with going to any shop but I Choose this one because of the reviews and how close it was to home. Now having other issues, that I didn’t before I will Not be returning. It was a big turning point being spoken to as if I was a child and I knew nothing.
