Went to this location because the previous shop I used for years for Texas State Inspection is no longer doing inspections. The vehicle is a Toyota Tundra, 2006. Was quickly greeted with 2 bottles of cold water. One for me, one for my wife - nice! Told them I needed a State Inspection. They told me to pull over and the inspector would be out shortly, which he was. Things kind of went downhill from there. Inspector checked my insurance info - no problem. Then, after fumbling around for a while, came and asked me if it was a 6 or 6 cylinder engine. I was pretty sure it was an 8, but I said we could pop the hood and look. Someone else in the shop told him "look at the grill on the front" - where it said "V8". OK, no problem. Next, he took the vehicle for a test drive to check the brakes. OK, no problem. He did drive it a bit hard and screeched the tires, but OK I guess. The vehicle was pulled back in the shop. He then proceeded to fumble around under the driver's side dash for quite a while. Then he came and asked me "Do you know where the OBD connector is?" I went and showed him. Once the inspection was done, I paid, got the receipt and then we left. At that time, I noticed greasy/oily footprints on the light beige-colored driver's side floor mat. I was not happy, but went home anyway. Later, I took the mat out and cleaned it the best I could. What this tells me is this: the State Inspection service must be an afterthought. Because you DO have to get out of your car (no surprise there) for the inspection. AND the inspector has to drive the vehicle. I am not sure why there was not a paper floor mat cover, but YOU NEED TO GET SOME! I have never had my floor mats in any of my vehicles get oily foot prints on them in 50 years of car ownership! I was uneasy with the inspector not knowing whether it was a V6 or a V8 (it's easy to check under the hood), or to have to ask where the OBD connector was (embarrassing!). I will not be going back to this location, and most likely will not be going to any Take 5 shop in the future. UPDATE 01/29/25: looking back on this, I should have given them a 1 or lower.

Waited over 30 minutes for a oilchange,they need help

I have gone to this place 3 times to get my oil changed. The first time I had my oil changed I asked them to please fill the wiper blades with water, they told me they had done it and they never did. The second and third time they made me wait 1 hour and then told me that they didn't have the oil for my car and that I had to go somewhere else.

I was there for 40 minutes there was one car in front of me .the employees was having a good time talking to each other .they was not even working on car just talking. Like there was no work in front of them they where all young kids the only one really working was an older guy maybe late 30s he did to state inspection and was working on a third and they still never started on my car .I will not come here again. I have 4 cars.therw lost.

The services were fast but not 5-10 minutes as advertised. I was there over 30 minutes. The prices are double that of Wal Mart but the convenience was awesome for Sunday and the service of the staff was superior!

Usually they do an incredible job on oil changes. Both times I’ve visited for a state inspection, the only person that can do the inspection is at lunch or in a meeting. I waited an hour for the inspection and the individual was still in a meeting and I was left again without an inspection.

Unexpected issues can arise any time. Fortunately Take 5 Oil Change was open on a Sunday late and helped turn off the engine lite to my Mercedes. I saved time and money Thanks to Take 5. They’ve gained a new loyal customer!
