!!! BEWARE !!! I went in for an oil change and they drained my transmission fluid. 1st- I waited 30 minutes or so to be serviced. 2nd- At 3:00pm they started to work on my car. 3rd- I was told by an overly anxious service associate that she had “bad news” for me. And told me then that they had drained my transmission fluid. My car now is stuck there. 4th- Location manager starts cursing and screaming at the top of his lungs with the associated present while I am standing there not knowing what will happen… 5th- After screaming show, they tell me I have to call an 800 number and start a claim so they can order me a tow truck to a mechanic so that my car can be fixed. They do assure me this is not going to cost me a thing (obviously, right? Ha! Wait for it.) 6th- Now it’s 5:30pm (yes, two and a half hours later) and the tow truck arrives. 7th- 5:54pm I arrive at the mechanic, who closes at 6:00pm. 8th- I receive a bill in order to take my car out of the mechanic for $207 and was told to call Take5 on this so that they could reimburse me. 9th- Five calls later, spoke with at least six different people, and I hear that they will cut me a check that will arrive in the mail in 7-10 business days once they are done “reviewing my claim.” Now, I was calm and contained the ENTIRE time. Mistakes happen, it’s normal, but how is it LEGAL or FAIR to have a customer pay out of pocket to have their car back to how it was before they drove into a Take5 location after THEY made a mistake that costed this customer an entire afternoon, a missed appointment, and over $200, two days before thanksgiving? What if I was a single mother and the $200 I had to put down unexpectedly was everything I had? What if I didn’t have the $200 to get my car fixed that night? Then I wait now until I have it to have my car back? And how do I go to work? HOW, please tell me HOW, is this even legal? How is this place allowed to stay in business?

Not good the manager guy was very pushy and unprofessional, he says we start off at 125 dollars for oil change !?! I say what? No sir I just want a regular oil change which I thought would be 30 bucks na it was 55! When I said I just wanted a regular oil change he says… it’s your car!!!? What? He was definitely the manager he was ordering everyone around, also this place was very ghetto! I think it was rude of him to say it’s your car! First this is an oil change not rocket science! Stop trying to rip people off!! By upselling things they don’t need ! Like 150 dollar oil changes and oil filters that are not needed! U may scare the local house wife or some chump into these crazy prices! But not me ,never will I go back there rude manager , and ghetto as hell!

My son and I both had our cars serviced at this Tampa location:364. As He lives very close by. I actually live two hours up north from here and was visiting! I wish that I lived in Tampa because this service station provided outstanding services. It was well organized, right from the start. All staff appeared to work very well as a team to take care of my vehicle. Everyone was very friendly, polite and helpful! Especially Tommy who got us lined up, gave us cold water while we waited in our cars. I truly have never had such a pleasant professional experience at dealerships or Jiffy Lube, etc. They even offered some in between service perks that if I lived near by, I would take advantage of (top off) but I will tell you that the next time I need to have my oil changed, I will seriously consider timing it when I am in Tampa to visit my son as I don't get this quality service where I live!! Thank you so very much! I felt that we both were well taken care of by this team of professionals!

Staff was good. But the fact that I had to spend $15 and provide my own oil filter upon visiting the 4th Take 5 in a week is ridiculous. Its a very common chevy late model V6. No money was taken off the bill either. I watched that shop turn away 5 customers during my very expensive oil change. DO BETTER!!!!!!

Super quick and efficient, they have a great process and tight operation. Highly recommended for an easy oil change, you don't even have to get out of the car!

(Kennedy Blvd location) As far as price, they are too expensive & there are other options that are cheaper. Having said that, occasionally they offer certain specials, for which I have taken advantage of. I would not use them without any type of special. As far as service, the couple of times I've been there, the employees have been great, very professional. It is evident they've gone through some type of training as far as procedures, what to say, when, etc. If I had to give a minor critique, it'd be that I prefer not be subjected to higher cost options. But it is their job to go through more expensive options, this happens anywhere & I understand that.

Hey listen the take 5 auto change is on Kennedy boulevard downtown Tampa from what I could see it had an all black staff except for one white girl that was newly hired these folks know exactly what they're doing and they do it fast they top off your fluids they check your tire pressure they give you the best high quality synthetic oil that money can buy and you're in and out in just a few minutes without even leaving your car these guys are fantastic if you're not getting your oil changed there You're really missing out on a great customer service experience everyone from the person that you speak with to the person that checks your tire pressure is an expert at what they do Go there and you'll never go anywhere else again

Normally use this take 5 and am okay with it taking a little longer because it’s in a crowded part of Tampa. Today I came in, waited just over an hour, sat in the bay with my hood not even opened, just to be told they didn’t have my filter and couldn’t perform the service. They even recommended going to auto zone buying it and coming back but re waiting in an hour+ line. Totally get being out of something (even though I drive a GMC with a very mainstream filter that everyone stocks) but how you let me sit in a bay for over an hour without saying a word is crazy. This location already has taken 30 minutes longer than a normal Take5 on my prior visits but this was the last time I’ll come to this one.

I've always gone to Take 5 for my oil changes and never had an issue previously but my most recent experience was terrible! The employees were friendly and nice so that wasn't the problem. The problem was that after my oil change, I noticed my car was lurching dramatically every time I tried to accelerate, almost like I was driving a manual transmission and couldn't switch gears correctly. Luckily I know a mechanic so I had them check it out, and apparently I had SIX quarts of oil in my engine! My car only takes FIVE!! My engine was drowning!! And that could have damaged my engine if that entire extra quart stayed in there any longer!!! Literally the day after getting my oil changed, I had to get all the oil drained to figure out how much extra was in there. So then I had to pay for MORE oil to fill it back up. There goes $100 at Take 5 down the drain, figuratively AND literally. Not worth the money!!! If you go here make sure you tell them exactly how many quarts your engine takes and don't let them charge extra for more oil.
