Absolute worst place to take your car, they talk a good game, very friendly and customer oriented but have no idea what they are doing. Beware of these people, they charged me $600 to repair a $15 part and that didn't even solve the oil leak that I had, they played a guessing game and changed the wrong part so now I still have the leak and I'm out $600, ten years ago I woukd beat that man to a pulp. I hate being taken advantage of and wasting my hard earned money and lastly wasting my quality time... Don't go to these people... Check out T n T motors at 3409 Sadler Dr.

Special thanks to Bobby and Frank for coming in clutch when our car suddenly started acting crazy! There was a minor problem the first time we picked it up, and they fixed it for free! will definitely be coming back

I brought a Buick Grand National to Tech Auto 3 years ago & paid shop owner Bobby H. $8400 to rebuild the motor..he wasted 3 years of my time & gave me back a still non running vehicle & refused to refund even part of what I paid him. See you in court Bobby. Don't be fooled like me, stay away from Tech Auto if you really value your vehicle.

I was really hoping this was gonna work out for some work on my 1974 Volkswagen thing. Needless to say, I picked it up disappointed after it had been there for a solid week, With no phone call updates even after calling myself several times. It was never looked at, To my knowledge, I find it interesting that the engine filter was laying in The backseat 🤔🤔. I had requested that it have its cover To which I was told it would, but when I got there, the cover was off, and the car was dirty on the inside. One of the mechanics tried to explain some things to me, but the main guy who works on the classic cars was nowhere around, but when I picked it up, I think he was there, and he never greeted me. The receptionist was the friendliest part of my visit. Better luck next time...

Long overdue in writing this review. Bobby and his crew at Tech Auto Maintenance have always provided excellent service over the years on a variety of vehicles I've rotated in and out of my personal 'fleet'. Some fixes quick and easy while others way more complex - each time a positive experience. Transparent, trustworthy, and EXTREMELY timely (Bobby is on a very short list of mechanics I trust). Huge props to Mitch who rebuilt the entire AC system in my 80-series Land Cruiser on a stupidly quick turnaround before leaving next morning for a 3k-mile road trip (truck never skipped a beat and AC still ice cold years later!) Walk the parking lot and it'll be clear that these guys know what they're doing. Highly recommend Tech Auto. 5-stars all-round!

Excellent experience. My power front seat back was stuck in the extreme forward position and I needed to drive from Houston to Asheville, NC. The Service Manager at TAM explained what they needed to check so he suggested I drop it off the next morning. By noon the next day he called me saying the switch was bad and quoted a fair price. By late afternoon THE SAME DAY he called me and said my car was repaired and I could pick it up anytime. The power seat back works fine the price quoted was the amount charged. After the payment transaction was completed he moved my car so it was easy to pull straight out of the parking lot. I would always consider Tech Auto Maintenance first for any repair. thank you!

Really love Bobby and his crew. I have a heavily modified Jeep Wrangler JK that I've taken to him repeatedly for advice, service, and upgrades. He's never steered me wrong and always done excellent work. This last go was swapping to my third set of springs and shocks, plus as aftermarket oversized radiator to help the engine stay cooler in my desert journeys out west. He's not the cheapest. He charges what he's worth and his years of knowledge on offroad classics is rare in the Houston area. Thanks Bobby.

Best auto repair shop in the downtown area also very good with older cars 1960s and under. I’ve seen new Porsches and Mercedes’ there too so I’m pretty sure they do everything. The owner is a gem very nice guy and Betty is great as well, love this place. There’s a mechanic there by the name of Mitch he’s very good but he’s rude.

Bobby is a true professional. Despite some circumstances out of the shop's control, there was a delay in repair completion. Bobby kept me informed and ended up saving me a couple of hundred dollars. Thank you Bobby! 2 enthusiastic thumbs up, highly recommend.

Had a little work done on my car. Bobby came highly recommended and did a great job, fast and professional. He truly knows cars and it shows, they have a lot full of classics in various states of being worked on. He can work on new model high tech rides just as well.

I have name Bobby 4 at least 30 years and to say that he is an expert mechanic is an understatement and he hires only the best of the best very professional very sweet very family-oriented very honest they busy they don't have time to make up things to rip you off I have driven to Houston after i moved away many times just for an oil change while I was visiting my daddy in the height so I recommend if you need anything done at all stop by there or reach out to Bobby Harding he is go to guy for just about anything on wheels slow or really fast even racing boats

I want to say a HUGE thank you to Jeff and Bobby. I had a flat tire at the car wash yesterday and had to drive it home. The first place I called the next day was Tech Auto Maintenance. Jeff answered first and was so friendly and helpful. Bobby was also extremely nice and came across the street to help me. Bobby was able to remove my flat tire and put on my spare. Being away from family, I didn’t have anyone to call. This place treats you like family and makes sure you get back on the road quickly and efficiently. I've used Bobby and Tech Auto for years. Always a positive experience. Their quoted price is what gets charged. One time it would have been an expensive repair but he told me the part in question was still under manufacturer warranty - so take it to the dealer to get it done for free!

If you want an autosjop that will go above and beyond, go to Tech Auto. I came in for an oil change and an inspection. They don't offer inspection services, so they drove my car down to a nearby shop for them to inspect it for me! This was so beyond what I was expecting I was utterly blown away. This little act of service will make me a customer for a long time. It's the difference between in the car industry, and being in the hospitality industry. I tip my hat to the owner of this shop and more so to the entire team he has working with him.

Major major Engine problems. Upfront with repair quote and below 2 other estimates I found. No surprises at the end. Bobby was fair, honest and a true professional. Service done less than a week. As a woman, I walked away feeling good and my engine purring like a kitten. Great Job Tech Auto Maintenance!!

Paid good money for a diagnosis that told me very little more than I already knew. I'm pretty sure they spent less than 2 minutes looking at my truck. Then they refused to work on it. Tried to tell me it wasn't worth 500 dollars. They also let me drive off the lot with no radiator cap on my radiator full well knowing I was already having issues with a coolant leak. Coolant ended up everywhere about 5 minutes down the road from them. Do not go here unless you have thousands to spend on completely restoring a classic. They won't want your business otherwise.

Betty was very kind and helpful. I had just bought a lemon and the cost to fix everything was the same as I paid for the piece of junk. I asked if it was possible to just keep it running for a little longer because I couldn't afford all the repairs it needs. Betty and the mechanics sorted it out and got it running well enough for 1/4 of the price. It's running dirty and I'll have to fix it at some point, but they did what I asked. When I picked it up, one of the mechanics explained the issues to me and reassured me it will last long enough for my purposes. They were honest and fair and I appreciate that.
