I have been a customer for over 15 years. The service is outstanding. The prices for parts and labor are fair and honest. He will not rip you off. He will tell you what's wrong and make sure everything is done correctly. His son's also work there, and they are just like dad, honest, great mechanics, and will do everything to get your repair done in a timely manner. Hard to find a true honest mechanic. With the knowledge they have. Thank you for being who you are.

I had a check engine light come on, which I couldn't pass my emissions test. I asked if they could take a look at it, I believe it was his son, very professional and honest. He didn't charge me for diagnosing my problem. After pinpointing what my exact problem would most likely be, he erased my error codes and told me to drive it around, and if it came back on to call him. Well, it did came back on, and he told me to replace the part (which had a lifetime warranty) that was making me get that check engine light. Also told me if that didn't fix the problem to bring it to the shop. Well, I replaced the part that only took me about 10 minutes to replace. Drove it around for a few days, and it never came back on. I took it for an emissions test, and it passed with flying colors. I'm so glad I took it to Ted's. I took it to two other mechanics. One was going to charge me an arm and a leg to replace many expensive parts, and the other just gave up on it, and told me it wasn't worth fixing anymore. It's unbelievable how many dishonest mechanics there are. If I ever have another issue with my truck, I will definitely bring my truck to Ted's shop.

I may have reviewed Ted's Auto Repair before but I have to leave another review. I am not originally from Chicago so when I have car issues, it's always so stressful because I never know if I can trust what they tell me, etc. Ted's has always been so honest, helpful, patient, and transparent. I feel like that's super rare in general, but especially with mechanics. Whenever my car is here, I feel relieved knowing whatever the issue is, will be relayed to me correctly and honestly. I cannot recommend Ted's Auto enough!

Reliable and honest mechanics, they performed all the required maintenance on my vehicle at a great price. My A/C is blowing ICE cold now, the dealer said I needed a new compressor but these guys found a broken wire at the compressor. Highly recommended and they are family owned, support local bussiness!

Ted is a liar, i would give 0 stars if I could. Ted replaced my starter only to have it break a month later. Took my car back to Ted onhave him replace the starter he installed only for him to tell me he didn't replace the starter,and the starter on it was one he doesn't use. He continued to tell me I was a liar even after I showed him the receipt tonwhich he said he may have replaced starter but that i then took it to another shop and had it switched, which makes ZERO sense. He then calls me and says he was out of town and his son was the one who replaced the starter but he won't fix it because it's a transmission problem. Took my car to Firestone instead and they said it was 100 percent a faulty starter and replaced it and my car runs perfect. Do not trust this pace to work on your car or Ted.
