Needed new brakes and rotors to pass my state inspection. They quoted me $300 LESS than the dealership, had me in and out in 90 minutes, and certified my inspection without me asking. Will definitely be recommendeding to anyone I know.

I initially got a quote for $1,700 for a radiator job, which seemed pretty steep to me. However, I decided to shop around and fortunately found a shop that could do the same job for only $350. Ian, the owner of the Brake Stop, is actually a really nice guy, but sometimes struggles with communicating when he does NOT have the mechanic for a particular job. A good manager should be able to understand exactly what the customer needs and be aware of the skills and limitations of their mechanics. Quoting someone $1,700 just because the mechanics need to learn how to do the job by watching YouTube videos doesn't seem quite right, don't you think?

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience here. They resolved the brake problem on my 97 Dakota quickly and accurately and went out of their way to explain what and how they did it. Really thought this truck was headed for the junkyard before this. Wish I had come here first. (Another shop had it for several weeks and gave up) Very fair pricing. Highly recommended!

I chose The Brake Stop based on the outstanding google reviews, and I have to say I was not disappointed. They installed a custom exhaust on my old full size Blazer, and it came out exactly like I wanted it. Ian was very communicative and actually *listened* to what I was looking to achieve, which is a lot more than I can say for other repair shops I've used. He even made it a point to show me the work when I arrived to pick it up, and went through all the details. It is clear that these folks are good at what they do and take pride in their work. The price for the job was very fair as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop, and I expect to return for future service.

We had been using this shop for several years. We've been with them through a couple staffing changes, but when Robbie left all the sense seem to have go with him. Ian (owner) Only has young apparently inexperienced guys there now. We took my car for Routine check up..oil, belts filters, etc. When test drive they hit a work truck. I took over 6 weeks for them to repair my car from their wreak-we have had to take it back several times because it's still not right. I'm forced to take it somewhere else to really have it correctly fixed. NEVER let your husband and mechanic become friends. I would have filed legal charges, but for my husband. Oh and on top of wreaking my car and it still being messed up...we had to Pay them for the original service. NEVER again.

Brakes went soft. I've had several bad experiences with mechanics here in Richmond, so I'm pretty averse to getting my cars getting touched by other people. Was running out of time, energy, and sunlight to work on my car. Took it to brake stop in the morning when they opened and they had it out to me right as I got home from work. There's a review that talks about how they wouldn't work on his car because he had aftermarket suspension and wheels. I called them and told them I have much more than just aftermarket suspension and wheels, and that a review said they don't work on cars that have that. The woman was confused. My car was taken care of regardless of aftermarket parts.

These folks know what they are doing. They are very honest which is rare nowadays. I would not take my vehicles anywhere else for work but here. Prices very fare and comparable.

Don't go to this place. All I wanted is them taking care of my front brakes. My brakes are squeaking eversince (without braking). Went there 4 times to get it fixed but mechanic "has no time" even though I have already paid 600 dollars (which gives my car top priority). I got nothing but snappy answers. Very disrespectful. Update: Had to go to another shop,ending up having to pay another 680 dollars to get it fixed.

Great guys and was very helpful cant go wrong and prices are very reasonable.I come from jersey to VA alot my car always have a new problem after long drives but every time I came here they made it easy got me in and out very quick.

Very professional curious and honest what needs to be done will be explained thoroughly even the damage parts are brought out so you can see and even that's explained I recommend brake shop highly😊
