Let me start of by saying hands down 1 of the best cat shops to deal with!!! Back in June of 2022 had truck in shop cause motor went down!! Had some issues along way cause of parts and some staff personalities but in the end everything worked out and was great!! No fast forwards to June of 2024 and truck is coming off mt eagle in Tennessee and the Jake breaks fail and motor Reva up and starts clattering!!! Immediately shut truck off called wrecker and had it towed to cat in Chattanooga once there cat hooks computer to truck and says oh there’s and over rev code and we called higher ups and we are not gonna warranty motor which had a 4 yr warranty.. the service manager also tried to speak to me like I knew nothing about my truck or engines and pretty much tried to bulldog me with his 25 yrs experience I then called Birmingham and spoke to shop manager bill which is and awesome guy and explained to him what happen!! After talking to bill we all 3 got on phone again to which bill tried to asked the other service manager several questions pertaining to motor and pretty much told same thing Motor had a code and we ain’t fixing it!!! Once off the phone with Chattanooga bill said let me do some talking and get back with ya.. Later that afternoon bill had called me back and said he had spoken with higher up manager Derrick which is another awesome guy at cat of Birmingham!! The agreement was made to get truck towed to Birmingham and bill wanted his eyes on it!! Couple days later truck is in bham and being torn down for inspection and guess what??? Bill and Derrick find a failed part that was under warranty and caused significant engine damage!! With a few phone calls and done paperwork guess what??? Cat honored there warranty and did a full out of frame engine rebuild at no cost to me!! In the end when picking up truck I had dealings with Naomi who accepted my payment for other work I had done.. explained all the warranty work and what warranty was left.. at the end of the day I ask anyone to thank Derrick, bill, and Naomi when you see them for the exceptional care they give to there customers and the above and beyond steps they take to make there customers happy!!! After all no one walks away from a cat dealer with out a big hole in our pockets and these folks are always on top of there game and wanna do everything they can for there customers Again thank you Derrick, Bill and Naomi for everything yall have done to get us back on road again!!!

If I could give this place 100 stars I definitely would. Especially to Dustin Bryant!! What a great guy, super knowledgeable, humble, kind, honest, great attitude, an expert at his trade. What a great human being. THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN!! My truck broke down at an intersection, he showed up, assessed the problem in under 5 minutes, towed my truck to a side street, called around to find the part, took me to buy it, changed it and I was ready to go in no time. Whereas all the other places that I called wanted me to pay for a tow truck to their shops and wait for 2 or 3 days until they could “get to it” Dustin did everything in 4 hours!!

$34,000 and over 6 months later , i am getting truck repaired elsewhere, they were quick to bill my cat financial account , but unfortunately did not even half the work and price gouged me severely. Truck went in for AC and DOT certification ... of which nether were completed. But as i stated they were quick to bill but didn't actually fix . now they refuse to comp bill . I don't want anything for free , but I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THINGS THEY DIDNT DO . I recommend avoiding them at all costs , because it will cost you 4 times more than what it should and cost you precious time that I cannot get back ,and customers lost

Unfortunately we ran into a problem with our front axle on our camping trailer. Thompson Truck Source went above and beyond to help us. We are not from Birmingham and they still made us feel like family. They listened to all of our concerns. We had to leave our camper for and week in a half in Birmingham until we could return with an axle we found. They kept in contact with us and helped us in making arrangements to completely fix our camping trailer. I would highly recommend this business again and again. Thank you to everyone at Thompson's for such an amazing experience.
