First time customer at Thousand Oaks Automotive and extremely pleased with the service I received from Paul Sharp. Took my daughter’s car in for a small noise. Paul and his team did a thorough review and here is a first- came back with they tightened up a few loose nuts and didn’t see anything that needed to be repaired! I have never been to an auto repair shop that I left without a list of repairs needed. So refreshing to find a place that conducts their business honestly and fairly and are not out to fleece customers. Additionally, Paul could not have been nicer and more patient explaining what they looked at, very much appreciated for someone like me who is completely in the dark about cars. First time customer, but certainly won’t be our last time.

I came here and got a diagnostic check for my transmission stuck in 3rd gear. They didn't want to try to work with me. They said it's better off being sold or whatever. Me and my dad put up 2k to fix it and they said no. I went to a transmission specialist in town and now I'm on the road. I feel this place has favorites in the neighborhood and cater to who they feel like dealing with in my opinion. Always gat a second opinion.

Integrity concerns – Be careful here, always get a second opinion. My elderly father brought his 13 year old car into Thousand Oaks Automotive by himself for a “tick in the engine” which didn't affect drivability. The quote he received here was overwhelming to say the least. To verify the expensive quote, I took the list of recommended repairs to 2 other licensed mechanics, and both indicated my father was being taken advantage of. The amount of work they recommended to fix the "tick in the engine" was also questionable. Please be cautious with Thousand Oaks Automotive. I see several interesting ‘5 star Google reviews’, but integrity at this place should be a concern. Do not let someone naïve to car repairs take their car here by themselves, and always get a 2nd opinion. Sadly, my father is starting to have short-term memory issues affecting judgment, and he agreed to start repairs before I was fully aware. Furthermore, the shop owner became defensive and unprofessional when i brought my concerns to his attention. If anyone questions the honestly of this review, I will be happy to share a transcript of communications and supporting quotes. Best of luck everyone and be careful.

I needed an oil change and bumper to bumper checkup but I have been burned so many times by going to my dealership. After reading so many positive reviews I decided to give them a try. Came with a serious suspension and axle problem. The job was completed in 2 days and pricing is fair. The manager kept me informed every step of the process. I never felt like I was being “sold” unnecessary repairs. Instead, I felt like Thousand Oaks Automotive completed the repairs one time the right way. They are very professional and organized.

Connie and John were extremely helpful in helping me set up my appointment and going over the details of the repairs I needed. Additionally, they were so kind as to shuttle me to work while my car was being serviced!

Brian helped me on my jeep grand Cherokee. Found the problem and fixed same day. Didn’t over charge and went above and beyond to get my car back to me fast. Professional. Will definitely go back and would recommend anyone go see Brian for their automotive repair needs.

I have worked with Bryan Vollmer and the team at Thousand Oaks Automotive for several years now. They have always been extremely professional and timely every time I have had a vehicle in their care. They do all in their power to explain any outstanding issues and have been honest in their suggested solutions to any problems I may have had with my vehicles. I would highly recommend them.

I'm late on this review, but I had them check out my truck for a simple issue involving my harmonic balancer. The initial diagnose cost was supposed be $89+tax i think. When I dropped off my truck, I mentioned that they needed to unlock the passenger door to get in because the driver side door lock is stuck. Some other employee who overheard walk over and said they could check it out. The thing he never mentioned was that they were going to charge. When I picked up my vehicle, they assured me the harmonic balancer was fine and that I needed to replace my door lock actuator. The price for the replacement was quoted 1100. I declined and was given a bill for about 250. I asked why the cost increased and the guy at the register told me diagnosing the door wasn't free. When I told him that they never mentioned a price increase about the door, he remained silent staring at the computer screen awaiting payment. I paid and left. I never been more angry at a shop before. It felt like a sleazy move to get more money.

Not even a 1 star rating. They blab about how they are "Certified Professionals" the car had just been repaired after a wreck. Ot had a noise and they took it in not telling us there would be any kind if fee for looking at it. They sent me this. I go pick it up because it was outrageous and they made us pay $155 just for taking a look at it. "Diagnostic fee" some kind man payed it trying to "Save their reputation" They were extremely rude. I asked where in their shop did it state that they charged a "Diagnostic Fee" he said everything was Verbal... yet we weren't notified until we said we didn't want to fix it. I went to a small shop and was charged $450 to get my vehicle fixed for nothing that was on that list. Thieves is what they are.

It was my first time visiting this automotive shop. I was searching for an alternative option to the dealer. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my car in and they were able to look at it right away. Not only was it less expensive than the dealer but they had it out in half the time. I was very impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of this establishment. I will definitely be bringing my car back.

Bought a used car, and made a phone call to Bryan at Thousand Oaks Automotive, to confirm they worked on this particular brand. Sure enough, they do - and within days of my purchase, I dropped off the car for a complete “once over” inspection. It was no surprise when Bryan called me with a list of suggested repairs, to give me peace of mind knowing this car would be safe - and dependable. I paid over $3k for these so called professionals to fix my car but they did not do it right. My car dies on me after they fixed it so I had to get it towed back to them, Paul admits that they did not install the fuel line correctly, but all I get is “sorry for the inconvenience?” Then another guy tells me that it’s my fault since I should have noticed a fuel leak after they fixed it in the first place? What a joke.

They have promise to get my car back to me and I haven't gotten it yet. I took to them Monday night. They have had my car all day Tuesday and all day today. I really hope they fix it right. For as long as they've had it.

They were not very thorough for how expensive they are, used a lot of gas put quite a few miles on it and left the interior dirty. Didn’t listen when I said it has a problem but not showing codes

This place was great! The guys are very clear in their communication and no question about understanding costs. The fastest car repair ever and we had several things tested and replaced. Just moved to this side of town so we've definitely found our new mechanic! They even washed the car when they were done. Thanks a lot!
