The crew at Michel Tires Plus at 12720 Shelbyville Rd are my new go-to mechanics, even though I have to drive halfway across Louisville to reach them. I've gone to another place for more than ten years, but when my exhaust system suddenly (and unnervingly) gave out one Sunday while I was on my way to church MTP was one of the few places open in the area. When I called they said I could come and they would work me in, and I hung around in a comfortable waiting room until they had time to check out my 20 year old Vibe and offer a diagnosis--my exhaust system had broken apart in two places and was otherwise rusted out. I told them I had a regular mechanic shop I went to and that as long as it was safe to drive (however horrible to listen to) I would just go to them for the repair as soon as I could, since they were much closer to my home. And this is when MTP won me over: they gave me my paperwork and didn't charge me for the check up, even when they thought they would never see a dime for the actual repair. So the next day, after thinking about it and working out the logistics, I called them back and asked them to go ahead and order the parts and schedule the work. Since Pontiac parts are no longer being made the exhaust system they had to install was not a perfect match and caused them a lot of trouble. They had to finangle and run out for replacement parts to make everything fit as well as possible, and because it therefore took them a couple more hours than they'd estimated they gave me a discount. (Though I didn't mind, as there are a lot of interesting places within walking distance in the area, and I expect to wait whenever I have work done on my car.) And when I came back a week later, having decided to get the engine remounted in order to cut down on the new rattling noise that was the result of an old car asked to cope with a solid, unbroken, non-Vibe exhaust system, they gave me a discount on that as well, even though I had it done against their recommendation. (They frankly told me my car wasn't worth the additional investment and I should just learn to live with a litle extra noise! The engine remount did take care of the problem, though.) I have recently bought a newer car, and since this means I shouldn't need their services as frequently as if I had kept my Vibe, I hope this review will help steer some other business their way. If you are looking for good, honest mechanics, try Michel Tires Plus on Shelbyville Rd. (Shawn was especially helpful, and patiently put up with my anxious phone calls about various noises.)

The entire staff is awesome!! They are honest and care about their customers!! I had an emergency last Thursday involving a flat tire an hour before they closed. They took great care of my vehicle! I highly recommend them!

This location of Tires Plus has always been up front with me about needed repairs without pressuring me to have them done right away. I trust their diagnosis of my car's need every time I take a car to them. I have taken 6 different cars to them over several years.

I stopped by, without an appointment, on a busy Sunday afternoon to get a tire patched. They were booked but made time to assess and repair my tire with minimal wait time. It was very much appreciated.

Always very friendly and prompt. I’ve been taking all my vehicles here for years as well as my sister. We never feel like we’re being conned, lied to or taken advantage of. They are trustworthy, honest and fair. Same employees been there for a long time. They’re my mechanics everytime

I was able to book a next day appointment and on a Sunday none the less! They were all very friendly, professional, and honest! I came in with a list of concerns/fixes, and they went over my vehicle and got everything sorted out for me. No gimmicks or “necessary” add one/procedures. And as a young women who came in with a plan for what I needed to have done - I’m highly impressed! Yall are great!

Love their lifetime alignment. My tire rotation and alignment took just under 90 minutes and they were slammed. I did have an appointment (always a good idea there).
