Our 84 VW Vanagon Westy broke down at a rest stop on I-5 sixty miles north of Portland. We called a bunch of shops & were referred to Trafton’s VW specialists & got towed there. They fixed it within a day, and were super nice and helpful! So grateful we can get back on the road.

Joe and his team were very friendly and easy to work with. My car had a rattling sound that was bothering me, but hard to diagnose. Joe went for two different test rides with me, and quickly figured out where the noise was coming from. He was able to fix the problem in under 30 minutes, and had me in and out of there in no time. They are friendly, the pricing is fair, and I am actually looking forward to going back!

Shout out to Wyatt and all the mechanics here! I've been having backfiring issues with my car for months. I brought it to the original dealership that I purchased it from to fix the issues and they claimed they fixed it yet the problems persisted. Trafton's Foreign Auto fixed it in less than a day and a half! My car issues were a massive headache for a while, and now I'm enjoying my joyrides in my VW again 😄👍🚘 Thank you Trafton's! Trafton's Foreign Auto Trafton’s was a lifesaver so appreciative and grateful for them. Just bought a vintage 1979 VW bus and at the gas station when I open the side door, a piece on the bottom came off and it hit the ground and it wouldn’t shut. Trying to take it home to Chicago and I was able just to drop by and have them get it shut for me so that I can make the long trip home. This is a great place warm and inviting great service!!

Google Mechanic told me my alternator was gone. When I called Trafton, they had me in at 9am the next day. Of course it was something else but they did a through inspection, had a reasonable estimate to me by noon, kept me in the loop when plans changed slightly, and my almost 20 year old Jetta completed by the end of the day. Still one more thing to do and Trafton will be completing it. So glad I found them. Keep up the great work!

It’s rare to find a shop that genuinely wants to take care of people anymore, let alone a group of guys that will go out of their way to take on/solve an issue at 3PM on a Friday! Typically you’ll know if someone is going above and beyond, because they’ll point it out to ensure that you know. Wyatt and Joey couldn’t have been more the opposite of that! Great team of experienced, friendly, knowledgeable, all-around wonderful folks here who have helped me with my vintage VW. I really recommend them, especially if you are like me and you don’t know much about cars. I was seriously about to donate my car to the junkyard, I was so frustrated with the persistent coolant leaking that no one could stop. Wyatt in particular was really helpful in letting me know he thought they could really help. Wyatt, Jeff, and Tommy never made me feel stupid (some mechanics get annoyed by my ignorance and I feel so small), and I felt like I could trust them to guide me ethically about what to do. These guys are my favorites, and they’re the best so I only go to them now. They have fixed persistent coolant problems with my car other mechanics just could or would not. They were shockingly fast to get my car done, both times, and they were really helpful in explaining why and how they did things before they did them. They just have a really great way there and I love it! Go see these guys.

I wish I had known a long time ago that a VW really needs specialized care. After ours was a bit mangled by someone obviously not qualified, Trafton's is putting it back together for us at a pace that is safe for the car and our budget. Everyone I have dealt with at Trafton's has taken the time to explain the issues and options with utmost patience.

Very fair, honest, prompt service! I ran my TDI Touareg completely out of fuel (which is a big no-no with those vehicles in the first place). They were very honest and straightforward from the first call, explaining thoroughly what the repair process could potentially entail. They were careful to help me understand what the potential outcomes were with hypothetical “best case” and “worst case” scenarios. Thankfully, the “best case” scenario turned out to be reality for me, and they were able to complete the work within the one hour diagnostic fee. I was not charged anything additional beyond the “ best case scenario “ estimate we discussed over the phone. They also provided me a free courtesy check and uncovered a list of concerns and considerations for future maintenance, all included under the very fair price I paid for diagnostics and repairs. I got a very good value for my money and look forward to doing business with them in the future!

Took my 2006 Forester in for an oil leak. Unfortunately the headgasket was leaking. The team at Trafton’s did an amazing job fixing it, and did it in a reasonable amount of time. Happy to have my car back on the road!

There aren't enough good things to say about Jeff and his crew. After months of searching, I finally found an MK6 GTI with exactly the features I wanted. The only problem? I live in Tennessee. After completing the sale, my sister was able to pick it up and said it ran and drove great, until it didn't. The clutch slave cylinder/release bearing decided to give up the ghost. While they were in there, they noticed a few other things and asked if I wanted to address them. Before any additional repairs, Jeff made sure to call me and explain what was needed. He also sent pictures and videos so I could "see" what was wrong. This was incredibly reassuring. 10/10 recommend Trafton's. My only complaint is that they are located over 2000 miles away and *probably* can't be my regular shop. Thanks guys!

I can't say enough good things about this shop. I damaged the driver's side mirror on my Porsche Macan. The Porsche dealer could not even see my car for over a week and then, who knows, how long or how much. Wyatt and Tommy from Trafton took a look at it the same day, ordered the part and fixed it the next. I know where I am taking my car for services henceforth!

I recently had my VW serviced at Trafton’s and was very pleased with my experience. They were able to schedule me immediately for an appointment, whereas the dealership was booked for two weeks. Jeff helped me throughout my whole experience and he was always friendly and very helpful. I found the crew to be communicative, genuine, and capable of doing good work. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Trafton’s next time my car needs service, and I will also be recommending my fellow VW and Subaru driving friends!

I was so impressed by the service at Trafton's. I sent in an inquiry about replacing our windshield motor and they called right away to set something up and told me that instead of hopping in and replacing the motor, they'd do an inspection to make sure it wasn't a simpler problem that would be cheaper and easier. They got me in right away and kept me up to date on what they were running into. Not only did they fix our windshield issue, they also found that the last time we had an oil change they had stripped the plug and it caused a crack in the pan so they fixed that for us as well. We feel a lot safer in our car and now have a trusty mechanic that we can use in the future, too!

I'm sooo pleased with Trafton's! I had a really complex repair job for them to do, i.e. fixing a DIY job that I did and had made a couple mistakes so the 2013 Touareg wouldn't even start. Mechanic Joe did a wonderful job, using a few clever tricks to avoid extra hours of disassembly to get at the key parts (buried in the rear of the engine), and fixed up 3 errors I made, one of which was very subtle and hard to spot. Just the fact that Joe was willing to fix an amateur wrench's screwups made him a hero in my eyes. I heartily recommend Trafton's! Great shop!

This place is awesome. They may not be the cheapest but I've had them do a lot of work on my westfalia and they get it done well and timely. I've had them do 10 grand of work on my van now and I'd use them again
