This was my first visit to Tuffy Auto & Service in Steele Creeke and the experience was great! I had multiple services performed on my vehicle by Brad and the service was wonderful. The entire staff was extremely friendly and very helpful! Definitely will visit again and recommend this location to others. Thank you all - Keep up the great work!!!!

This review is a little long in coming, but back in July 2024 my family (me, my wife , my son, and my son’s teammate) drove 3 1/2 hours to Charlotte for a baseball tournament in my 2016 Silverado 1500. Along the way, my alignment seemed to go out. (Truck has a 3.5” suspension lift with oversize tires.) as tires were only a coupler of months old, my main concern was not destroying brand new tires. But with little time, I was leaning toward waiting to get back home to get it checked. We had a couple of hours between games, so I drove to Tuffy’s and explained the situation. They were great and got my truck right in to check the alignment. As it turns out, it was not the alignment, but rather my lower control arms on both sides literally hanging on by a thread as the shop at home who had done my suspension work had failed to torque the bolts, leaving them only hand tightened which allowed the nuts to vibrate off and the bolts to work their way almost all the way out. The staff at Tuffy could not believe we had driven the distance we had on interstates and at interstate speeds with the lower control arms on the verge of coming completely detached from the truck. They said the resulting accident would have been catastrophic and we would likely have not survived. Obviously angry with the shop at home, I immediately contacted them, but they were initially non responsive, leaving me and my family in a situation (out of town, without a vehicle, and potentially could have killed us). The service manager (Lane) and the store manager (Chastity) at Tuffy were great throughout the process. As it was a weekend, parts were not readily available in addition to the logistics of my shop at home ultimately being responsible. The staff at Tuffy allowed me to leave the truck at no additional charge because it was too dangerous to drive, even around the parking lot as the front wheels (specifically the drivers side) could come off at any moment , turn or bump. Over the next week, the staff at Tuffy was able to coordinate with my shop at home to make the repairs. The Tuffy shop manager (Lane) kept me informed every step of the way and sent me detailed photos to document the issues with the truck for potential action against my home shop. We had to ride back home with other families, as my truck was not drivable. We returned the following weekend for another baseball tournament and picked up my truck. The staff at Tuffy made the repairs but suggested I take it into my home shop as soon as I got home to let them inspect it and make any additional repairs they felt was necessary, as that shop owned the issue. The repairs Tuffy made held and I safely drove the truck home. My shop here immediately took the truck and went through everything to make sure it was right and they said the staff at Tuffy had done a great job. To date, no issues with my truck. What could have been catastrophic for my family (understatement) ended well, luckily. But if it was not for Tuffy getting me in so fast, identifying the issue and giving an honest overview,, it may not have ended well for us. The staff at Tuffy was exceptional and they worked with us every step of the way. I can’t say enough!!! Thank you.

My check engine light came on & I took my vehicle here for assistance. They told me my mass air flow sensor was busted & I ended up buying a new one based on their recommendation. I ended up having the old sensor tested at another location, it was completely fine. I’m still using the old air flow sensor in the car and haven’t had any issues. They also told me that the diagnostic fee would be discounted off the bill but that didn’t occur either. Would not recommend at all & I won’t come back.

I got its flyer in mail. I called the number written on the flyer, nobody answered. It was Sunday and I understand that their shop was closed but why for God's sake was their voilce mail not functioning / full. It looked so lousy and uprofessional in 2024. I doubt that any company that cannot setup their phone system properly can deal with complicated machines as modern vehicles.

The lady at the desk was very nice. The guy that serviced our car wouldn't let me find the keys to the wheels and was told SEVERAL times where they were yet he claimed he couldn't find them. We went home and looked and they were EXACTLY where my husband said they were... again, THREE TIMES! So I was never able to have my tires rotated. Please do better! From now on, I will have them on me so I won't have this problem. We keep them in the SAME PLACE so they don't get misplaced. I would've left a 5 star review if I didn't have a problem with my tires being rotated.

Tuffy Auto Care did an excellent job getting my oil leak fixed quickly. They were able to do it the same day and also replace my brakes. It was very affordable and the service was excellent. I will definitely use them again!

Extremely disappointed! Was told I needed front brakes and rotors by this place. I was a little skeptical being that I had already got my front brakes repaired , and I’m glad I didn’t go through with it . After getting two second opinions , I learned it was my rear brakes that needed to be replaced . The grinding noise was coming from my back rear tires. Once I got those replaced , I had no issue with the grinding sound. I would’ve paid $580 for an issue that did not need repairing !

I always have a great experience going to this location. I most recently replace my brake pads here, and the store manager is very honest, kind, and informative about what needs to be done and when, and is never pushy about unnecessary services (an issue I've had at other garages). I'll be coming back here as long as I live in the area.
