So glad I found Marcell. He did my 60k tune up on my Subaru Forester and showed me exactly what he did, and at a very fair price. He most recently checked my battery for me, which was a big favor. Marcell is super knowledgeable and tells you how it is while maintaining honesty and integrity. When you're there, cars drive by and honk at him to say hello-- you can tell he knows his neighborhood/community and that people appreciate him. His shop has a great vibe. 10/10 service and 100/10 beautiful energy.. thanks Marcell! 最好的

We all know it's hard shopping for a mechanic. The reviews are great so I figured I'd give them a go. I am not knowledgeable about cars, feel really insecure calling shops to book an appointment and this interaction reinforced why. My check engine light is on with P420 which means the cat. I had a friend who is a mechanic look at it and he told me that it didn't need to be replaced and my worst fears were not true. But there is something wrong with it--obviously. When I called Upland the guy on the phone made me feel stupid. He was short with me, frustrated, that I was ridiculous for thinking that it wouldn't have to be replaced. I felt like I was a burden and he's doing me a favor, when I'm the one giving him business. He told me without looking at the car that the cat has to be replaced. Which maybe P420 is the "you're f'd" code for cats but I feel like they should check it out first before saying that. Either way I am not going to give them my business because of how I was treated on the phone. *Revised after owner responded to me* I am appalled by your response to my review. I explained my situation as I understood it, and said I know you'll have to take a look at it and make your own assessment. He said "So what do you want?" (I am not making this up) And I said "I'd like to make an appointment, please." Put me on hold. "Bring it in tomorrow. 8." Didn't get my name, number, or say thank you. Your response just validates everything I said. Thank you for solidifying that I made the right choice.

A mechanic you can trust! They’re open and honest about your vehicle, and it feels like a breath of fresh air. They even talked us out of doing a repair we were recommended by a Subaru dealer. Appreciate their thoroughness and transparency. Recommend to anyone!

Marcel was so kind, and got me in the same day, and then put in the alternator by the time I had finished eating lunch down the street. He told me where I could save HUNDREDS on the part I needed, his rate for the job was more than fair, and had me back on the road to be able to pick up my son later that day. He was personable, genuine, and knew all the things going on with my Subaru Forester. I’m forever grateful for the service and the customer service he provided me with a situation that had me so stressed on both time and finances. Thank you Marcel, anything else I need for my Subi and you’re the first one I’m calling. Grateful man.Thank you.

Marcell is currently the best and realest mechanic I've worked with in the Portland area. He doesn't tip toe and doesn't sell you stuff you don't need. Always top quality work and sources quality parts. Doesn't cut corners and tells you straight up. I've gotten brakes + rotors replaced, full clutch assembly replacement, and other bits of work done on my 2014 WRX. He's the only mechanic in PDX I genuinely trust not to rinse me of cash. He is also extremely timely with turnarounds and doesn't take on more work than he can handle.

Marcell is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced people I know when it comes to subarus--especially their transmissions--and I know some really really experienced subaru people! Hes also one of the only people in the Portland area who knows how to rebuild a subaru 6spd transmission properly. He's fair, treats customers with respect, and doesn't BS around. I can't recommend him and his shop enough.

Alright so here's the deal I almost never take time out of my day to write a review but..... do to some extremely poor planning on my part I was in a bad spot I needed something for my RB20DET that is otherwise pretty tough to find! After countless stops to other auto shops and parts stores I was referred to what I can only describe as one of the most down to earth knowledgeable dudes I've met in the JDM industry after hashing up some stories and geeking out over some pretty sick Toyotas and explaining my predicament I was walking out with exactly what a renewed faith in the JDM car community and a first impression I will never forget Marcel (really hope I didn't butcher the spelling there) is one of the real ones hit this man up for sure hands down and again thank you for keeping the dream alive brother I probably wouldn't be making it to this car show without your help today! Called to get a labor quote for replacing an air intake hose on a 2013 Honda civic. I have the part, but not the tools. You literally just take 3 bolts out holding the air filter box in place and change the hose out with the 2 hose clamps. Guy told me “I don’t work on Hondas.” It doesn’t matter what car it is. It’s 3 bolts with a 10mm socket set and you’re not confident with that???

I've been looking forward to stopping into this shop for years after enjoying the cool cars and artistic style of the building. It was super helpful to see the shop open at 8am on a weekday after dropping my kids off at school. Marcel invited me in to drop my car off with no wait, and took care of me while my wife and I ran some errands around the neighborhood. My favorite things about the experience are the honesty, warmth, and authenticity that he exudes. This is a community shop. So grateful to have it!

Car stuff is typically overwhelming, stressful, and expensive, but Marcell changed that for me. Up until this point, I’ve had all of my 2010 Subaru’s services done at the dealer. But after being quoted $3,200 from Subaru of Portland for a few repairs, I decided to stop by this shop. Marcell explained all of the expenses (parts and labor) with me over the phone and talked about where he would source various parts from. He’s very resourceful, buying used and fixing/repairing when appropriate. He got me in the next day. I expected to drop my car off and blindly let him do his thing but he actually looked over everything with me while I pretend to understand. It was very evident he is incredibly knowledgeable. I work in healthcare and can’t help but think of him as surgeon for cars. Friendly guy with great energy. Will definitely be returning for future maintenance and repairs.

Marcel is by far the most honest, knowledgeable and friendly Subaru and VW mechanic I have ever met! And I’ve been to most of the shops in Portland. He’s been tuning my Vanagon with a Subaru transplant and even teaching me how to maintain peak performance. Just awesome! 🚐🌬️✨
