I am not sure what happened from 2022 until recently, but it was only a matter of time for this location to join the ranks of the others in town. Likely a stupidly low wage salary from the corporate goons, the efficiency, competency, and relatively low aptitude of the entire oil change process has completely vanished. It is painful to watch as a retired aircraft mechanic and auto enthusiast. For the last 3 visits, I have had to clean up more oil off my car, off my engine, and re-check the plug and cap before driving off because of the vibe and uncaring environment gave me no assurance or piece of mind.

I have to give it one star, however, this store does not qualify for one. Last Saturday 8/3/2024 my experience at this store was less than professional. I came in for an AC service on my Dodge truck with a cab over. One tech who finally came out to greet me told me that my vehicle was too big for the service rack and that the concrete had cracks in it, I asked if they could perform the service outside of the bay, and he said that he would check with the floor manager. After waiting another 15 minutes the tech came out and told me that I had to take my truck to an RV place to have the service performed on my truck. This answer was unacceptable to me as I had the exact truck and camper just a year ago for a recharge and they pulled me in and conducted the service. I asked for the manager's number who was there, but never came out to help me, told me to pull up to the center bay and they would perform the service. They did perform the service however the charge did not hold for 24 hours and I'm out $155.00 for a service that never should have been done. They should have told me that it didn't hold a vacuum and they couldn't charge it. Bottom line they didn't know hope to perform the service correctly. The floor manager was very unprofessional! My opinion should not be in a manager's role at all.

I came in with 35psi in each tire, as the sticker on my car recommends. They helpfully lowered all the tiers to 30psi, which triggered a low air pressure idiot light later that day.

This was a first but the oil drain plug fell out after my last visit. I've always had very good service but this could have been catastrophic. Probably not going to go back.

I am using this shop now at the recommendation of a coworker. They're always fast, super professional, and don't treat me like I know nothing. I had an issue with a Groupon and they took wonderful care of me. Ya'll rock!

I prefer to furnish my own oil and filter when I have my car serviced. My car takes 10 quarts of Mobil 1, and I find it cheaper to purchase oil in bulk. Handling 10 quarts of 180 degree oil is no longer a problem when I let the guys here perform the labor. This Valvoline Service Center is great.

I used to go to this location every time - they are close to my house and did a good job. The last time, however, the manager was so lazy that I've lost all confidence. Usually they check the brake lights, headlights, etc. (and replace them if you want). I knew a headlight was out, so when they didn't look, I had to ask him to do so. He agreed that it was out. (Gee, thanks!) I asked if they could change it. He said they carry the replacement ... but he would have to look for it - "Do you still want me to?" Me: "Yes, please." Him (calling to one of his workers down in the pit): "Do we have this light?" Worker (almost instantly): "Yes!" Manager (after light is handed to him, and looking at me questioningly): "It will depend on my hand being able to fit in there or having the right tool." Me: "Please try." Him (after trying): "My hand fit in there and I was able to change it!" Me: "Thank you." Then he tells me he's done and asks for payment. I ask if he checked all the other lights. Him: "I can if you want." I then have to ask for each item (turn signals, front and rear, brake lights, back-up). Him: "They're OK". Then as I'm getting ready to go, he adds, "There are three little lights on the top of your pick-up cab and one of them is out, but two of them are working, so that should be enough. Plus (attempting humor I think), I don't like to just climb in other people's beds (truck bed in this case) without asking." At that point I gave up, paid, and left. Later I noticed that he had not bothered to reset the "oil change needed" indicator, so I've been driving around with it saying I'm overdue. Now I wonder about the quality of work on the oil change too. I gave them a "2" because previous experience was good, even though they get a "zero" for what I just described.

Been coming here for a few years now and have always been treated well. One of the main reasons I was a repeat customer is because I didn't have to see or hear uncouth mansplainers. Until today. This new guy was very aggressive and rambled to me about my vehicle. I didn't ask for it nor did I appreciate the delivery. He even went so far as to mispronounce my first name, and skipped manners when telling, not asking, me to turn on my engine. Your new guy needs some training on manners and how to address customers. I won't be back. I loved this location and everyone was always so nice before today! This was a very woman-friendly location. If I wanted to be spoken to like this I'd drive somewhere much closer instead of across town.

I won’t be going back to any valvoline again. Idk why, but this just left a sour image of the company. I drove across town this morning specifically to go this location because I like it. Got there at 8:58. They open at 8am. The back doors (where you drive in) we’re down but the front (where you drive out were open). Not even one employee standing around. I tried to go into The front and then walked into the back entrance and since they were employees only it was locked. Kept walking around. Finally just decided to leave. Called about 15 minutes later to ask what time they opened and talked to someone who confirmed they opened at 8am. I kind of politely prodded a bit and was like “ oh was there just no one in the front?” “The response was oh yeah I had run upstairs to put some paperwork up”. Not really apologetic but nice enough. Said oh “was that you in a black car, I saw someone driving away”. He was nice so I decided to drive back, came back and there’s already 2-3 cars in the bay. It honestly just kind of ruined all my plans for the day and it’s just a bad way to run an efficient business. When I came back, I saw at least 2-3 techs working on cars. So if you “run upstairs” shouldn’t you make sure someone’s around if there’s multiple people there? I could understand if it was just him. I honestly think they just didn’t want to start on a car yet and pretended not to see me.

It was a great location but the service here wasn’t that great. I went to this location because it was closer to where I live now but…I’d rather go back to the Valvoline on San Mateo.

I was very apprehensive to get my oil changed by myself for the first time but Elijah and his team made me feel very welcomed here. It was a quick and easy process! Not only that but the price was very reasonable and affordable. I will definitely be returning for future oil changes. Thank you sm!

I've been coming here for the past 6 years and have always had a pleasant experience. I usually don't leave reviews for places like this but the service today was so top notch, I had to! I stopped by for an oil change, there was no wait time, and the mechanics were both helpful, knowledgeable and polite. They even showed me how to install a cabin air filter and gave me recommendations, plus a discount/coupon!

Waited in line, had my hood open for 20 minutes, for them to tell me they couldn't change the oil on my corolla? I get its a high end car... this story gets even better... i needed to use their restroom after waiting for an hour and they tell me they don't have one? No wonder they are always so slow.

I had a oil change for my car about 2 weeks ago, I'm not sure if they changed the oil, my car is saying I need to change my oil and the check engine light came on today. The oil life is at zero percent right now

I never leave reviews, especially negative ones, but my experience here today was totally unacceptable. Roland was extremely rude to me and clearly has zero idea of what it means to be courteous or have manners, because after the ridiculous attitude I had to put up with from him, he immediately turned downstairs and was yelling at one of his coworkers. Terrible customer service from this guy, if you desperately need to stop here rather than going somewhere much more worth the money, at least be sure to ask to speak to someone OTHER than Roland.

Update: After my review yesterday, the manager of this location informed me that none of his employees notified him about my attempts to contact him. He went and bought my skidplate from the dealership and installed it right away. Thank you for the prompt and professional service from the manager. "Had my oil changed in Feb. They never put my skid plate back on, and I've called them multiple times trying to get it back or replaced but kept getting the "I'll let my manager know and they will be in contact with you." It's June, and I haven't heard anything from them. Save your trip and go somewhere with integrity."
