I got an oil chance and when they we're done, one of the guys claimed that the bolts under my car we're "sweep". It only has 2 AND the rest we're plástic that the guys just broke. He wanted to get rid of my guard for me. When I asked for my guard back it was completely bent and when I checked the car myself, all the plastic bolts were gone and one side of the plastic guard was almost torn off. It's a shame but they truly don't know how to treat other people's belongings. I'm not coming back to that place

On Saturday 3/9/2024, I came in to this local Valvoline location [3808 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60609] for an oil change. A couple of hours later, as I was driving to work on the I294 expressway, I felt a sudden halt in my car's undercarriage and then a loud scrapping. I had to put the hazards lights on, then safely exit the expressway to look underneath. That's when I saw the engine cover shield hanging. The tech forgot to put the screws or fasten them properly. I was late to work because I had to drive the streets at 10-15 miles an hour. It took me over 2 hours to get home after work also, driving the streets from Downers Grove to Chicago at such a slow pace. I called the Valvoline location when I pulled of the e-way and saw what happened. The manager Rafael asked that I bring my car back the next day, Sunday. Unfortunately, I could not find someone to cover my Sunday shift in such short notice and take off work. I'm the opener for my job. I couldn't bring it back until my following day off from work, Wednesday 3/13/2023. This mishap was very disruptive and inconvenient to my busy work week. My mechanic removed the mangled hanging undercarriage cover and then I brought my car back to Valvoline the following Wednesday. The store manager did replace the mangled shield with a used spare one from another Honda vehicle that was left behind. I spent $154.11 for transportation for those three days that I couldn't drive my car to work due to the negligence and poor attention to detail from the oil change tech. I had hoped to be reimbursed for this amount so I placed a claim with Valvoline. Today, I received a call from Rafael, the manager. His tone was quite different from the many friendly interactions I've had with him over the years. He was very callous and had a ‘I don't care’ tone. He said he spoke to his manager and they came to an agreement that because I had said I would come in the next day therefore he couldn't reimburse me for my travel expenses. I explained to him that I couldn't find someone to cover my shift in such short notice. My next day off from work was Wednesday. He abruptly said, 'sorry, bye' and hanged up the phone. This underscores Valvoline's dismissive and unapologetic stance. Valvoline’s store manager Rafael and his manager’s position to address this, is very unreasonable. For me to call off from work the next day as a morning shift opener, get an occurrence for missing work and lose work pay? A lose lose situation for me. In conclusion, despite inconvenience caused by their negligence, Rafael’s and his manager refuse to reimburse my travel expenses. This reflects Valvoline’s disregard for customer well-being. Their terse response also demonstrates, their apparent indifference towards customer concerns, deepening my disappointment in their lack of accountability and commitment to a satisfactory resolution. 3/25/2024 Thank you, Jamie, for your prompt response. While I appreciate the attention given to my feedback, I regret to inform you that the issue remains unresolved from my perspective. Despite the investigation with the management team, I still find myself out of pocket for the travel expenses incurred due to the negligence during my recent visit to Valvoline. The proposed resolution did not address this aspect adequately, and I remain disappointed by the lack of accountability for the inconvenience caused.

Solid place to get an oil change. I've been going to this place for almost 25 years, yes, that long. Was an Oil Express for years. It's now Valvoline. The manager Ralph has been there just as long, great guy that manages a tight business. Employees are all very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful.
