**To clarify on the owners response - I DID book an appointment online, receiving multiple confirmation texts (see screenshots below). a 9:00 am appointment should not mean a 7 hour wait, nor should I be talked down to for questioning that. I was told that since I made an appointment the wait would be that long, they claimed a walk in would be quicker. Go figure. Claiming now I had no appointment seems mildly disingenuous to say the least** Very unfriendly service. Deeply rude. I booked an appointment and was told it would take SEVEN hours for my simple oil change when I arrived. They said if I was a walk in it would “only” take 3 hours. Will be using a more friendly and timely business next time.

Village Motor Works is in the perfect spot & convenient for those that live downtown, especially in Boylan Heights, Cameron Park or the Warehouse District. They are upfront about prices & are on top of communicating what the priorities are for things needing to be done. I’ve been going to this spot for years & the service has always been great.

I can’t believe that you can walk into an establishment and seek help when something goes wrong and get told to, “get out of here.” My husband was simply trying to solve a reoccurring issue on his car that continues to get worse and worse with every fix, and was told to leave. Absolutely unbelievable.

I've been to Village Motor Works three times now with 2 of my vehicles. Every visit the service was great! They got me in on time, finished within the expected timeframe and all requested services were completed to my satisfaction. The staff are polite, knowledgeable, professional and best of all, honest. There was no trying to sell me something I didn't need which was refreshing to say the least. I'm so glad to have a place I can trust for all of my automotive needs! Highly recommended!

Great place to take your car. Had a weird feeeling from my brakes and they were able to identify the issue and notify me quickly through a digital portal. They were also able to perform an inspection at the same time and again provided all the information online to increase accessibility. As far as I can tell, all their material and tools were high quality and the team well trained. They also had reasonable prices for their services. Will be taking my car here again!

Wonderful experience at Village Auto Works. Great communication throughout the entire process and loved the nice touch with adding pictures for any replacements performed. Also just a genuinely great turn around time as my car was dropped off and completed within 2 hours on a Saturday morning. Definitely will be visiting Village Auto Works again and recommend others to try this shop out as well.

Worst auto shop experience I've ever had. Time to be a keyboard warrior since my opinion seems to be a common one throughout the neighborhood–despite a misleading 5-stars on Yelp. When you're vulnerable with an emergency repair in need, the last thing you want to be met with first thing in the morning is a condescending attitude from someone who sees easy $$$. This shop was the closest to where my truck flatted so I rolled over only to be met with no alternatives besides being sold 4 tires (yes, I understand it is recommended to have all 4 tires the same but times are tough and I'm just trying to get a temporary fix). No explanation, no details, only asked for over $1,000+ on the spot for tires I was not even told about. I felt very unwelcome at this place. These are the people that give the auto industry a bad, sleazy reputation. This building will look better as a parking deck in a couple of years, anyhow. I want to share a great experience we had with Village Motor Works. We recently found ourselves with a flat tire 2 blocks away and the spare was in need of air. So we brought it in, to find out the spare was flat due to a bad valve stem. Mark quickly took care of it for us, and we were able to bring the flat tire back. Unfortunately, it couldn’t be repaired but Mark had a new one for us the next day and installed it. Just so grateful for Mark and Village Motor Works who still care about customers. We will be back again for inspection and oil changes going forward.

I came here a year ago for an inspection and was in and out in an hour, they even gave me a coupon for a restaurant down the street. I made an appt for my yearly inspection a week in advance, came in this morning and the person working told me they had no idea when it would be ready but earliest this evening. I left since I expected it to be an hour max with an appt. Kind of a bummer since I took off work and scheduled ahead of time but whatever.

They totally saved me! Woke up with a flat tire and I was so glad to have a shop close enough to drive in without getting a tow. Even though I didn't have an appointment, they fit me into their schedule. They called to let me know I needed a new tire and explained the pricing before they placed the order, and they were really transparent about how long it would take. I'm definitely taking my car here again!

After searching a few shops around town for a good price and availability, I got an oil change, tire rotation, and state inspection done within an hour. I had a coupon and was able to come in the same day when I called for availability. Great experience!

As always , the team at Village Motors are still exceeding expectations. I’ve been going to this location for years now. The reason I keep coming back is simple. The team here are the best. The customer service, maintenance team , really everyone I interact with all seem to have the same goal in mind; ensure their customers are aware of all issues and resolve those issues if asked. These guys are top tier and I would suggest them to anyone who is looking for a stellar car mechanic

I really appreciate the honesty of the owner. He could have charged me to check the breaks, but he said that being a computer issue it would have been better to go directly to the dealer. I appreciated it.

Great experience working with the guys at VMW! My subaru’s battery died and I knew we needed more work done on the car, so we took it to VMW. Mark gave us really helpful advice of what to fix and what wasn’t priority (because $$$!) and I really appreciated the transparency. Will take my car there again!

I’m guessing there’s a problem with their online booking system because I booked an appointment on their website three days in advance. When I showed up, I was told there is no appointment and he wasn’t particularly kind about it, nor did he attempt to troubleshoot why. Now I’m just sad I took off of work for this, and I have to find an alternative day, take more time off, and probably go to Jiffylube. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope you all can fix the website.

They always do a great job and give you a detailed overview in a portal of what work is needed so you don’t have to keep up with it which is great with price transparency. Also, work is always done fast and efficiently.

They are a local gem. VMW got me in quickly and fixed the problem within 24 hrs. (needed a new starter and other parts). The experience was exactly what I look for in a mechanic - good skills, fast response, and no attempt to upsell or rip me off. I'll be back for sure!

Vehicle Inspection and Oil Change on 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport: The work was completed in a timely manner. The manager also pointed out future work that should be done with an explanation. The Cost is in line with the Automotive Service Industry. No Complaints.
