I have nothing but excellent things to say about Whitney and his team. Whitney has been upfront and transparent about everything from the beginning in my two experiences with him. The first time, he said he didn't think he would be able to take a look at my vehicle for a few days. Because of that, I went elsewhere but I didn't forget his honesty about it. The second time was this week. I had my car in his shop for most of this week. We had several phone calls about my issue and Whitney did the leg work to figure out what work should be done and the price for everything. Finally, we determined what should be done and a price for it. Unfortunately, I was laid off before the work began. I called Whitney, shared the news, and said I would like to pick up my car without anything done as reducing expenses was priority #1 for me (and my car at least runs without repairs). This meant he and his team spent at least a few hours on my car and several phone calls for very little return. Whitney was kind, patient, and professional throughout. I recommend anybody with a Japanese car (Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, Acura, Lexus, etc) to come here as that is what they specialize in. You can trust the service you are getting.

On my first visit with Whitney he stopped what he was working on to not only meet me but hear about a few issues I was having with both our older Toyota's. Advice on the one was "everything should be fine just a computer glitch". ( any other shop would have requested to bring it in and would have a cost associated) our other Toyota Tacoma had a bad exhaust issue. Whitney was over booked invited my son and I to stop in after hours and he would take a look at it. His advice was to drop it off at the muffler shop next door. The muffler shop wasn't sure what to do with it, and again Whitney advised the muffler shop not to mess with the Manifold and replace the Cat. Fixed the issue saving us big bucks drilling and tapping manifold rusted bolts etc. Again Whitney went out of his way to get us straight and no charge. VA Import Keep up the good work! The auto repair business can be expensive, frustrating, hot, and dirty so his efforts are noticed and appricated!

My family and I have been coming to Whitney since I was a baby and he has taken care of every car we have brought to him since moving here in 1995. He services both my dad and my mom's vehicles, my older and younger brothers' car that he helped us find, my dad's wife's cars, as well as all of the one's I've bought and brought him with over the past 12 years of having a license while I've been in the state-- two Honda Civics, one CRV, and gave me advice on a 2021 RAV-4 while I was in Texas. His technicians are experts in what they do and each visit is informative, quick, and well thought out. The waiting area is always clean and organized and it's never taken more than absolutely necessary for all of the great work that is provided. Whitney is the most knowledgeable mechanic I've ever worked with while living in Virginia (22 years), Maryland, Colorado, Texas, and Florida (and even in college when I was at JMU), and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my or my family's vehicles. If you need a mechanic in Richmond, it's worth the drive to Virginia Import Services.

Hands down the best experience I've ever had with an auto repair shop. I've been taken my Honda CRV and my Honda Fit to Whitney for a couple years now and it's always been the most pleasant experience. He's always honest and someone you can trust to know he's not ripping you off and always does quality work on your car. I can't recommend this place enough - you should absolutely give them your business because they deserve it!! I wish I could give more stars!

Been using VA Import for over 20 years! Trustworthy. Now my grown daughters go here & I don't worry about them getting taken advantage of. I have had bad experiences with dealers trying to find things that need to be fixed when there was nothing wrong. That has never happened with Don & Whitney.
