Very very unfriendly

Had my car towed to WW after getting a flat tire at work. It was after 5p and they were extremely busy. They still managed to fix my flat and gave great service with a smile. 100% recommend them for future services!

Said they had a policy where they can only replace 2 tires at a time, but we told them we just replaced the other tire at the dealership and wanted to bring the adjacent tire up to spec, but they wanted to upsell us a tire to replace our literally brand new tire. Awful rude customer service as well, literally go anywhere else and I hope this location fails.

Thanks to SHAUN for the great customer service!

Always helpful and informative. Wheel works is my place to go for tires. Fred and Steve at the San Francisco wheel works on Van Ness St. are excellent! And a shout out to Giovany, who I dealt with in the past.

Been a regular at Wheel Works San Francisco. Staff are all professionals and accommodating. Thanks to Tommy for doing the inspection as a walk-in.

I came in from a road trip with an unidentified issue with my car. It turned out to be the Axel needed to replaced. I needed this done urgently and on the road within a day. Steve was very helpful in diagnosing the issue and then ensuring it was done to suit my timeframe. I was most appreciative of the service.

I had a disappointing experience at Wheel Works. I went in with a flat tire, and rather than fixing it, they insisted on replacing it. Initially, I was quoted $328 for the replacement, which seemed reasonable, so I agreed. However, after discussing further with a different manager, the price mysteriously jumped to $388 without a clear explanation for the increase. Furthermore, I was told my car would be ready by 10 AM. After waiting until the afternoon with no updates, they finally informed me at 3 PM that they couldn’t specify when my car would be ready. This lack of professionalism and transparency is unacceptable. I strongly advise against using their services based on my experience.

They fit me in on short notice, accommodated my request to add an alignment halfway through a tire change, and got my car completely turned around in just a couple of hours.

I have been coming to Wheel Works of San Francisco in Franklin St. for years now and I’m very happy with the quality of work . The service agents are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had been going to other wheel works tire shops before but the service agents were not helpful and not knowledgeable enough and they asked me to call to follow up on my car and either hang up on me and gave me an excuse or an attitude. I don’t live near by Wheel Works of Franklin St. but it’s worth the drive to a shop that you know what to expect it’s quality work on your car and knowledgeable service agents and the owner is very friendly to. Thank You Wheel Works of S. F. Franklin St.

It’s a busy shop and the guys all work hard to ensure everything is moving along for the customers. I appreciate not feeling like they’re trying to add more services than necessary. Thank you!

They get the job done. I have always been happy with the service provided and appreciate the professionalism. It is not warm and fuzzy with perky people which I have experienced in other chain shops but I just want to get the car fixed. Wheel Works has been professional and got my car out the door at the time promised!

I was referred to Wheel Works by a friend, and I have been pleased from the first visit, to getting a new set of tires, and now with ongoing oil services and maintenance. The staff are always very friendly and in good spirits. Terrific value and convenience for the money.

I really like this shop. Other reviewers emphasize WW's intent on upsell, but I see it more as a focus on safety. For instance, my recent car purchase I was getting a speed wobble and took it to them to see if it was alignment, but it was simply old tires. Sure enough, the records with the vehicle showed they were bought in 2010. They also pointed out things to prepare for in the future, provided photos and explained anticipated costs. And they always top up the windshield wiper fluid.. it's just a nice touch.

I used to love this place. I went here many times, I bought tires here several times. This time I went there because I had a flat tire, they told me that my tire was too old and that it wasn’t repairable. The lady told me I needed to buy all 4 tires for $1,800. My two back tires are newer since they were replaced 12 months ago. I understand that sometimes tires are not repairable and in that case they usually sell me 2 tires, unless all tires are not usable anymore. New ones in the back and old ones in the front. I said no to the lady and I went to pick up my car. When I went to pick up the car, the gentleman at the desk told me that I could just buy 2 tires and apologized for the “misunderstanding”. I went to a different place and tire was fixed. I didn’t have to spend $1,700 for all tires as the lady was pushing it. It was repaired for $50. Be skeptical when going to this place.

I was only planning on going to get my oil changed and my tires rotated (with my lifetime purchase made four years ago). Then I was slapped with a $22 multi-point inspection fee (WITHOUT BEING ASKED). Also, the salesman also involuntarily forced me to make a $1 Boys and Girls Club donation (WITHOUT MY CONSENT). I brought in my vehicle at 9:00 am (first in line) and didn’t get my vehicle back until 4:51 pm (minutes before closing time). They did however call me and told me that my Oil valve cover gasket’s was leaking and had to be fixed; and that my battery was going bad. I decided to only fix the gasket only. Also, the next day when I drove my car, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System light was flashing, then stayed on. I think the mechanics might have done something and made my TPMS system malfunction. I checked my tire pressure to be sure it wasn’t low. After I’m done with this set of tires, I will not purchase anymore tires here since I don’t want to do my tire rotations here again.

Overcharged me by 400 dollars on a set of tires compared to Tire rack inc. installation. Dropped the car off at 11am, it was ready at 5pm. Extremely long to do a simple swap. Wheels were left very dirty and the tires weren't filled up to spec, one was 15psi lower than it was supposed to be. What a service. Never again.

There’s a woman at Wheel Works on Franklin Street at Bush. Her name is Christina and she is so efficient and helpful. This is the second time I’ve had service that needed to be done to my vehicle. She is very fast, courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable. Because of that, I will not take my vehicle to any other Wheel Works. Thank you, Christina!

Chu and his staff are professional, friendly, and good at their jobs. This is one of only a handful of shops in the City and they are always extremely busy, yet they find time to listen to your problems and go out of their way to meet your needs in a challenging environment.

I took my car in for what should have been a simple tune-up, oil change and back brakes. But my car LOST POWER AS I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE RIGHT AFTER LEAVING THE SHOP! I WAS ON A BUSY FREEWAY!! I have NEVER, EVER BEEN BROKEN DOWN ON A FREEWAY BEFORE AND I’VE BEEN DRIVING FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS!!!! It’s the scariest thing EVER!! I had to be towed off the fwy, and my car had to be towed BACK TO THE SHOP THE NEXT DAY! This is the first and last time I will ever let Wheel Works give my car a tune-up! I PRAY it’s a small problem and that they do the right thing and promptly fix it and NOT give me the runaround about it being something else! The FIRST thing they said is it might be the alternator! Well, why would it start and why would u have not noticed that yesterday! BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WEONG WITH MY ALTERNATOR! That’s why! I’m livid that I’m spending another whole day at this shop and that I trusted them to do right by me as a consumer!

I've used Wheel Works at 1499 Franklin in San Francisco for years now. It's a busy repair shop, but personable and capable. I've been pleased with the customer service and the auto service. They're reasonably priced, competent and honest. I've bought 3 different sets of tires there over the years, along with the lifetime alignment service that keeps me coming back. I only encountered one problem (tires weren't properly inflated) over the years, and they made that up to me in a professional and customer-service -oriented manner. I've come to trust and value them and our relationship. The only thing I wish they'd re-instate is WiFi. I live 140 miles away from their shop so I generally have to sit and wait for my car for several hours. The time went by much more quickly when they had Wi-Fi. But overall I highly recommend this shop.

It doesn't even deserve a point, it's a customer service

So far customer service is not good. Told two different things, reprimanded for not knowing where to go--first time buddy, allow the customers the space to first-timers and also, kindly give instructions. How can you have so much frustration at 7:07am in the morning. Will update after service is done.and update review, good or bad.

Hit pretty bad pothole on the road. Called wheel works and confirmed they have tires I need in stock and can replace today (Sunday afternoon) and asked to get appointment. When I came to store they said no way they can do that today and they can’t find my appointment in the system. Wasted so much time and other stores were already closed or about to close.

Worst experience ever, booked an appointment at 10 am for wheel alignment then staff told me come back at 4 pm for pick up, I forgot his name but this young man was rude don’t have customers services, this guy told me this is not a dr. Appointment so don’t expect the same thing. If you can’t honor the appointment time what is the purpose for booking appointment. So I decided to take my business elsewhere, dropped off the car at Rollign Stock and it was done within 45 mins and the staffs are polite and professional.

Had an appointment for 9am to replace 2 tires and an alignment on a Thursday. Brought the car in at 8:50am and was told by a dude that it would be done sometime today. He was remarkably unfriendly as if he just moved from New York City. I was the only person that didn't realize how busy this place was cause there wasn't a single other person that opted to wait for their car on-site. My invoice states the promise time is 3pm. 3pm hits and I asked "when would the car be done" and they just respond "today". At 5:18pm I receive an email with visit summary and inspection details stating that someone would explain the findings to me. I see my car has been moved to the area for finished cars ready for pick up. I go to the front desk and ask them if my car is ready and they just say its not when it obviously is. At 6pm (9 hours later), I get a call that my car is ready when I am still the only person waiting for their car in the waiting area. Nothing is explained to me about the visit summary and I'm just asked to pay and told where to find my car. I get to my car and it's wrapped in plastic that I have to remove and find a place to dispose of. I mean they did what I wanted (tires and alignment), but I don't understand why anyone would go here when other shops I've been to would finish within 2 hours and could use the business. I feel bad for anyone that didn't bring their car in by noon cause they're probably not getting their car "today"
