Very trustable and reliable guy and service. Just changed brake pads and oil there. Got to know Zack thanks to recommendation from Jimmy, a mechanic I used to go and trust. It is hard to find someone you trust for car maintenance. Would highly recommend Zack to friends based on my experience two days ago.

I strong disagree with the comments commending the owner. If your car has small problem such as checking brake, it might be ok. But if you have a bit complicated problem involving electronic system, the owner can do nothing about it and might mess up your car. This is true especially if you have an advanced German car. Don’t let him mess up with your car!!! The owner does not understand what he is doing. The error only happens after he “checked” my car. It turns out that it now needs to be programmed by my new mechanic. Thanks for not “charging” me this. He even said in person “now you have to fix it in other places”. Now everyone should know How “responsible” and “skillful” this owner is. New update: my brake wear sound was on, it turns out that the brake wear sensor is NOT correctly installed and causes this replacement. Everything I said here is true as I had all of the receipt and diagnosis from the mechanic who fixed the error.

Z&D Auto is unfailingly reliable, prompt and fair. From checking out potential cars to nursing beater cars, Zach has serviced is the best because he takes care of his customer. He doesn’t do any work that isn’t necessary. I trust that they won’t try and sell me something I don’t need.

I was referred here by a coworker. I took in my 2004 Lexus ES330 because of a shake under acceleration. Zack put my car on a rack, then after several minutes showed me the problem - A seized front axle bearing. He also showed me the ball joints and bushings which were worn and cracked. I authorized the work and he did a great job. My car is now working great without the shaking. What I liked was he actually showed me the problems, and afterwards showed me the old parts. I would not hesitate to bring my car to him again.

Zach is a good, honest mechanic. Definitely deserves 5 stars. Honest Zach clearly communicates his diagnoses, options and repair processes. He does his best to work with the customer, and he takes the time to explain everything in detail. Some repairs are trickier, but he always explains the best possible options, and any possible risks. Doesn't try to sell you anything you don't need. Knowledgeable I've gone to Zach for a number of repairs for my 2005 Honda Accord. Each time, he's taught me about the car, parts, and repairs. He is experienced and knowledgeable. Affordable When possible, Zach tries to be on the customer's side and save them money as well. This isn't always possible, but he does his best.

I just had my Honda Pilot serviced at Z&D. Service charge is reasonable and Zach's workmanship is what you expect from a small garage owner with his reputation at stake. Also, I have another repair needed for a emission warning light. He explains to me what the problem is and what is needed. The estimated repair bill is $3000+ since there are two faulty codes read. Since the repair cost is quite significant and the value of my vehicle is less, I appreciate his understand the cost and benefit of the repair versus my Pilot's current market value. He clears the codes and suggest to come back once the check engine light is on again. With this proposal, he can be sure and I don't have to replace both catalytic converters at once. I agree to his provided repair suggestion to replace the air fuel sensor for now and see if my cat really fails. The repair bill is ~$350 for now. If I need to replace the catalytic converter, front bank, I will have him fixing it for me. Adding a follow-up review on a different event. I have a flat on a tire. I take it to a tire store to have it repair. There are three punctures in that tire. One nail is obvious to see and the other two small nails are within ~2 inches apart on different location from the big one. Technician informs this tire is not repairable. This is understandable as he follows guideline. It is a run-flat tire and it still has plenty of tread. Tire-store does not have the same tire I have in store and I decide to order it online and have it installed later. I decide to ask Zack for a second opinion and he takes a closer look on the punctures. Luckily, the two small nails are not long enough to go through the tires. Only one patch is needed and I don't have to over spend on getting a new tire. The tire repair charge is reasonable and Zach does not over tighten the lug nuts.

My husband and I have been bringing our cars to Zack owner of Z&D Auto Repair for all of car issues in the past few years. Zack is very honest and experienced. He always takes time to explain to us what was going on with the car and gave very fair prices for fixing things. Recently, my old 2011 Nissan Altima made some loud noise when I cold started engine in the morning. Zack took a look at my car, understood of my car symptoms meant in terms of repairs, fixed all the problems in just one day! I was so satisfied with the outcome, that annoying loud noise was completely gone the next morning when I started the engine. I literally felt like I m driving a new car lol. Whatever I have something major done, Zack showed me my versions (brakes, batteries, engine parts etc) compared to a heathy version so I could see the difference myself. We are so confident of recommending Zack his new autoshop to everyone in the Bay Area who is looking for honest, trustworthy and affordable yet high quality mechanic services.

Zach is a top notch car mechanic and he really knows his stuff. His customer service is second to none and he is as honest as they come(very important when choosing a mechanic). He changed the break pads on my BMW X3 and the price is much lower than the dealership. Do yourself a favor and hit him up with any car issues you may have.

I came to Z&D Auto Repair this Tuesday. My initial intention was just to get the oil changed in my father's car, but what stood out was the shop's exceptional attention to detail and responsibility. Not only did Zach promptly change the oil, but he went above and beyond. Zach took the initiative to check and replenish the refrigerant and coolant levels in my father's car. He even noticed that the undercarriage was loosen so he fixed it right away. What impressed me most was the transparent and fair pricing. I know the owner Zack for a while. He’s a really trustworthy guy. I’m glad to hear he opened his own store. I just did my car service at his place for the first time and I do recommend it to others. The charge was reasonable and he took good care of your vehicle. I can pick up my vehicle on the same day, which is something I never imagined at dealership place. Highly recommended!
